If you follow along via Instagram, you might have seen that I was in New York City the past few days. Katey and I were there for work, but managed to squeeze in some fun on Sunday. I've been seeing a lot of your DMs asking questions about our trip, and I definitely plan on putting together a full post on what we did and our recommendations for a quick trip to the city. ...
Cozy Stripes
With the fall chill finally setting in, I am getting to take advantage of my ever growing scarf collection. I am always a sucker for a good scarf. And over the years, I've collected quite a few. Blanket scarves aren't a new thing, but I love their versatility. They can easily double as a shawl or poncho (like I'm wearing here), yet still be worn as a tradition scarf.
Personally, I find them perfect for those days when you're not quite sure what to wear. Throw one on over a sweater or long sleeve tee and you're good to go. This 70's inspired striped scarf is perfect to wear as a shawl, worn open around my neck or wrapped up tight. If you're looking for a plaid print, I also love this one.

Fringed Cape
One of my favorite "fall essentials" is the cape (you can see how I've styled them over the past year here and here). This fringe cape caught my eye because it's a great layering piece that can be worn with skinny jeans or black denim (on sale).
I always like to layer capes over a lightweight sweater or t-shirt. They are an easy way to complete any outfit and a great transition piece. For me, capes are great this time of year because the Texas weather can be so unpredictable. I pretty much live in layers during the fall and this cape is no exception.

Pink Dress & Lace Up Flats
A few weeks ago, I went to NYC for the last few days of Fashion Week and to work on an upcoming project launching next month. I always love trips to New York. And while they are usually very short, I always make time to enjoy the city, try new food and of course walk 5th Ave.
This Printed Drop Waist Dress couldn't have been more perfect for this trip. This comfortable dress made for the perfect look while walking from meeting to meeting. Not to mention, it does not wrinkle. I was very surprised to pull this out of my suitcase (fully expecting to steam it) and noticed that it was in great condition. My Lace Up Flats (back in stock and under $75) were also a nice break from heels. I always love an excuse to wear these shoes! This dress & shoe combo will definitely be coming with me on any trips in the near future.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great Monday! xx

Pink Neutrals
If there's one this I have a lot of, it's cardigans. I am a teacher after all, so I guess it fits the stereotype right? All joking aside, cardigans don't have to look frumpy. They can easily be the most versatile piece in your closet. I love that a cardigan can transform your entire look, especially like this one from ASOS. This long cardigan (under $50!) is a piece that I wear on the weekends or at work with these pants (my favorite ever!). The weather last week was glorious, and I couldn't wait to wear these lighter layers. It was nice to spend the day outside without having to tote around a heavy coat. This is definitely going to be a piece that I wear (all the time) this spring.
Also, I want to mention that you can grab this bag for 50% off! There's only a few left in this color, but I really like the brown or white. You can see me sporting here, here and here. Happy shopping! xx ...
Bow Tied
As I've mentioned before, my closet could always use a little more color. However, I have a hard time passing up neutrals. This Gray and White High-Low Sweater has been on my watch list for a while and it's a steal at under $30. I love this sweater! The length was perfect and it's super soft. I stepped out of my comfort zone a little and paired this bow tie to change up the look. Either way- this sweater is a closet staple.

Gray Fringe
Cardigans will always be my favorite look for casual wear. Maybe that's the "teacher" in me, but I love the simplicity of an oversized cardigan with a great pair of pants, jewels, and of course shoes! Now this obviously isn't a look I'd rock in the classroom, but it is one I would wear any other time. This Fringed Cardigan (now on sale) from ASOS has been my go look for a casual weekend look. It's super soft and cozy and one that is so easy to wear. I loved pairing it with these boyfriend jeans (similar) and heels. What is your go to look for the weekend?

Cozy Knits
It has been the most wonderful weekend in Dallas. The weather is finally feeling like Fall and I am loving every second of it. After church on Sunday, Austin and I spent the afternoon grabbing some breakfast at Highland Park Village and then went over to the Knox Henderson area to get a new phone (for him, I wish me!) and check out some furniture.
Per usual, I was in an oversized sweater and tall boots. I threw on a blanket scarf for kicks and was shocked it was actually cold enough to keep it on the while day. Can we talk about this purse though? You may remember Kelly Wynne bags from this post last spring, and I couldn't wait to share with you this bag from her new collection. I love the gold detail over the python embossed leather! Such a fun spin on a classic black bag. You can see more of my favorites here...I have my eyes on this leopard crossbody!

Pastel Pleats
I usually don't wear a whole lot of pastels in the Fall. I typically stick to darker colors like black and greys, but I could not pass up this neutral sweater. This has to be the most practical I've worn this Fall. Dallas hasn't been to chilly during the day, but at night, the weather cools down a bit and it's nice to have on a cozy top. This little ASOS number has been at the top of my list. I mean, look at the pleats on the back. Can't get over the split back with pleated panel. It's the perfect look for day or night!
