Birthdays have looked much different this past year and with Austin's birthday (today!), I wanted to celebrate him in a way that was safe, yet allowed us to feel like we were on an actual vacation. I surprised him with a Dallas staycation over the weekend and we had the best time. ...
My Top Picks for Brunch in Dallas
When it comes to brunch, Dallas doesn't mess around. From chicken and waffles to a decked out mimosa bar, I've got you covered. This is by far one of the most asked questions I get from TTD readers when they are coming to visit the DFW area. With that, I am pleased to present you with a list of my top picks for a Dallas brunch. Cheers! ...
5 Ways to be a Tourist in Your Own City this Fall
Dallas is an incredible city and I feel so lucky to call it home. We have a great food scene, beautiful neighborhoods, and arguably some of the best shopping. And though I love the hustle of New York City and San Francisco, this is a perfect place for us to call home. But sometimes, Austin and I struggle to get creative when it comes to dates or things to do on the weekend. We have our typical "dinner and a movie", which I honestly love, but there are times when you want to mix things up a bit. ...
Favorite Coffee Spots in Dallas
Join Me- AllSaints Opening in Dallas
One of the great things about living in Dallas is the we get access to a lot of great stores. But we don't have everything, so I always get excited when a new store opens. AllSaints is a brand that I have respected for quite some time and I am so happy they are finally in Dallas. They are everything I love in a closet: timeless, classic and minimal. ...
A Dallas Staycation
A couple weekends ago, Austin and I decided to do a little Summer Staycation in Downtown Dallas (you may remember seeing photos from our trip over on Snapchat). We love traveling and exploring new places, but there's something nice about enjoying the city we live in. The Joule is one of our absolute favorite hotels in Dallas and we love any excuse to getaway. ...
Coffee Date with Kate
Hi everyone! I am so excited to share a few pictures and a fun interview I did with Kate from The Small Things Blog. She was in Dallas a few weekends ago, and Austin and I had the pleasure of meeting her downtown at Mercat Bistro.
This was my first time to meet her face-to-face, but after a few short minutes, it was like we've been long time friends. We talked about our favorite things, shared funny stories, and of course talked about all things hair! Chances are you know Kate, but if you don't, you will quickly learn that she is a hair genius (seriously, I know you've seen her all over Pinterest). When it comes to tools, products, and tutorials, this girl has you covered!
We had so much fun sitting down and chatting with Kate. She is just so nice and genuine...I hope to work with her again soon!
Here are a few questions from our interview. Enjoy! ...
Coffee Run
Each weekend, Austin and I look forward to what we call our "breakfast date". It's a little tradition we picked up from my in-laws (they've done this for several years!), where we go try a new place for breakfast on Saturday or after church on Sunday. We love this part of the weekend and this encourages us to get out, try new things, and enjoy the city we live in! Our schedules are pretty busy at times, so we look forward to that quality time, just the two of us.
One of our recent trips was to Boulangerie by Village Baking Co. on Lower Greenville. This little cafe is so adorable with white marble tables, checkered stools, and not to mention the pastries are quite yummy. This was our first trip but it will not be our last! I highly recommend the Almond Croissant and Austin recommends the Bacon and Cheddar Croissant.
I loved wearing this colorful outfit while we were out. You may have noticed, I tend to wear a lot of neutrals and black, so this was a change for me...but I love it! This Ferragamo Shoulder Bag from Luisaviaroma is the perfect neutral color and goes with so many prints and patterns. I loved the way it looked with this teal blazer. Seeing these colors together make me ...
Holiday Fun in Dallas
Hi everyone! As promised, here is a list of my favorite things to do in Dallas during the holiday season. I love living in the area and always feel like a tourist in my own city during Christmas. There is just so much to do!
Enjoy!! xx
1. Highland Park Village This has always been one of my favorite spots in Dallas. During the holidays they have every tree lit up with beautiful white lights. It’s so gorgeous! Each year, Austin and I have our “Christmas Date” here. The night consists of dinner at Mi Cocina followed by a coffee at Starbucks or Royal Blue Grocery (new coffee shop). Then, we drive through the neighborhoods to look at all the Christmas lights and listen to Christmas music. It's one of my very favorite traditions!
2. The Carriage Rides at Highland Park Village While you’re in Dallas, why not ride in a horse drawn carriage through the neighborhoods of Highland Park. Sit back and sip on some hot cocoa as you look at all the lights and homes decorated for the holidays! My family has done this before and it was so much fun. Be sure to make a reservation, they book up fast!
3. The Trains at Northpark This is geared towards the little ones but one ...
Fall in Dallas
Things are finally starting to cool down around Dallas and I wanted to share with your some fun things to do in the DFW area with your friends or family. I love this season for many reasons, but nothing beats this weather. Here are a few fun activities to do outside this fall:
Autumn at the Arboretum
Going to the arboretum in the Fall is one of my favorite traditions. These photo's were actually taken at the Arboretum, however, it only shows a small part of what they have to offer. From the Pumpkin Village to the rose garden, it's a fun place to go with friends or family. There are plenty of places to eat inside, but you can also bring in food or drinks. Be sure to wear flats, it's a lot of walking!
Kylde Warren Park Food Trucks
Klyde Warren Park has always been a favorite of mine. Now that the weather has cooled off, it's a great place to check out. We love the food trucks (beware, it gets very busy!) and the dog park. The food trucks are open from 11:00-3:00 and sometime stay open later. Our favorite truck is The Butcher's Son. For a full list of things to do at the park, visit here.
