Each spring I always find a lace tunic that I wear non-stop. You know, the blouse you can throw on for an easy weekend outfit or that's comfy enough to wear to the airport. This tunic from Free People has been that for me. I honestly think it might be a dress (?), but for me being pregnant and almost 5'7, that wasn't an option. ...
10 Cozy Sweaters You Need This Season
I love chunky knits for fall. And with cooler temperatures in our near future, this ivory sweater is at the top of my list. After spending the past week in New York City, it was the perfect jumpstart to the fall season. Ah- the weather was so cool and nice! ...
Green Floral Dress
Nothing makes me more ready for Summer quite like this breezy, floral dress (now on sale, 40% off). I'm breaking all of my neutral norms here, but this dress was too good to pass up. Aside from the obvious floral statement here, I have to say the color is spot on. This is a dress you will be wearing over and over again, it’s that good. ...
A Trip to Flora Farms
A few weeks ago, Austin and I traveled to Cabo San Lucas to work on a few projects for The Teacher Diva. Many of you followed along via snapchat and instagram, but if you are a new follower (welcome!) you can see more from our trip here or read my Cabo Travel Guide from last Summer.
One place we wanted to visit while in Cabo was Flora Farms. I was so excited to get to go during our trip! Flora Farms is a ten-acre organic farm in the foothills of the Sierra de la Laguna Mountains in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico. While touring the property you will see their organic farm, grocery market, restaurant and various stores.
Flora Farms was a 35 minute cab ride from our hotel, so we made sure to leave in plenty of time to view the property before sunset. When we arrived, we grabbed a drink from The Farm Bar and toured the farm while we waited for our table at Flora Fields Kitchen. The food was absolutely incredible. We sampled a variety of items, and everything was delicious. Their menus ...
Free People Floral Tunic
This past week the weather has been unreal in Dallas. 65 Degrees, sunny...no complaints here! I was excited to bring out some of my Spring and Summer tops, including this Floral Tunic ( be sure to read about sizing at the bottom).
Long, flowy tops are all I live in during the Spring. This one is unique with the cut out details on the back. I wasn't sure how I would feel about the open back, but I actually love the detailing (especially because you can still wear a regular bra). This top is so easy to wear, and definietly something that will get a lot of play in my closet this Spring.
OUTFIT DETAILS: Free People Floral Tunic (Ok- this is actually a dress, but a very short dress. If you are petite, this would be an adorable dress on you, but for me at 5'6 it was pretty short. I sized down to an XS and found that it makes for the perfect tunic. I would recommend sizing down if you want to wear this as a top) | Current Elliot Skinny Ankle Jeans (FIT: tts) | Louboutin Pigalle Pumps (borrowed from
Macy’s Friends & Family Sale
What better time to pick up a few holiday gifts or winter accessories, than during Macy's Friends and Family Sale? As a frequent shopper of Macy's, I am excited to share with you one of their biggest sales of the season. The Friends and Family sale is going on now through December 10th and you can save 25% off sitewide (exclusions here).
I found this Belted Cardigan, black booties, denim button down, and black leggings all 25% off with code FRIEND. I also loved this v neck sweater and Steve Madden Poncho. If you're needing brown booties, these studded boots in cognac are a must.
Happy shopping and thanks so much for stopping by! xx
Boho Dress
Happy Sunday! I wanted to share a quick look that is perfect to wear as we transition to Fall weather. I loved wearing this Free People Dress during our stay in Cabo last month (see here) but I also think the style and color makes for a perfect fall dress as well. How to take it from summer to fall is simple. Just throw on your favorite booties and you're all set.
Also, many of you ask about fit and sizing, which can be tricky when ordering online, so I hear you. I try to always include a little blurb about that at the bottom of each post but, if you still have questions feel free to email me (theteacherdiva@gmail.com) I love to hear from you guys!
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the weekend!
Baggage
It's no secret that I love handbags. Big or small, they are all welcome! This isn't something new, and I have my Mom and Grandma to blame for my addiction to purses (sorry, Mom!)
Have I told you guys the story of that purse? It all started when I was 8...and all I wanted for Christmas was a purse from JC Penny. I can picture it now. Brown, suede leather, with a patchwork design. Classy right? I talked about that purse every day. To my surprise, Christmas morning came and I opened the most beautiful box with (I remember every detail) the most beautiful red bow. As I opened the box, I screamed "That Purse!". It really was a glorious day for my 8 year old self. I felt so grown up and "cool" to wear a purse like my Mom and Grandma.
That's a story that my mom loves to tell, but if one thing's true, it's that I have a serious love for bags. This Marc Jacobs bag is a little different than my typical bag, but I really needed a big bag with soft leather. The best part about this bag is that it can be worn on my shoulder or as a crossbody. I love it! Personally, I love this gray color all year long, but if you're wanting something a little more Summery, it comes in more pretty colors too! See more of my favorite bags from Nordstrom here! Thanks for reading! xx
