No Tricks, Just Treats…
Halloween is one of my favorite holidays.
Costumes, Candy & Pumpkins?! What's not to love.
My parents decided to host a party this weekend and asked my husband and I to help out.
I was excited considering I love any excuse to dress up and eat candy.
However, is it was a party for my 13 year old brother and all his friends.
YIKES!
So here we are spending our night with 30 sixth and seventh graders.
Oh to be so cool like us, right?
Ha.
It actually turned out to be pretty fun.
Here are a few of my favorite tricks & treats.
enjoy!!

All Things Fried
Ok, just going off the title of this post you can only hope it's not a "what i wore" feature. No, this is just some fun moments captured this weekend at the State Fair of Texas. We had to go and pay our respects to Big Tex (for those who don't know, he went up in flames on Friday) TEAR! Of course we had to eat a corn dog and try something fried...or two.enjoy!!

You Have My Heart
Breakfast dates are my favorite.
Maybe it's because it's the best meal of the day
or
maybe it's just getting to watch my husband sip on his coffee and see that gold ring on his finger.
Either way, it's safe to say...
he has my heart.

The Clutch
Recently I was introduced to this amazing designer Blair Ritchey, who makes all types of leather goodness.
I was instantly hooked on her Lulu Fold Over Clutch and had to add it to my closet. The hardest part was choosing a color because well, they are all fabulous! {my next purchase will be in snake}
This little beauty is perfect for a night out or running errands.
These are just some of my favorite things that I store in my clutch on a daily basis.
enjoy!!
1- Blair Ritchey Lulu Foldover Clutch in Cobalt (you can see it worn here)
2. Maybooks Planner...love using this! Keeps me {semi} organized.
3. Sugar Lipbalm in Rose (always a favorite of mine...makes my lips super soft with a hint of color)

By the Lake…
This past weekend my family and I packed our bags and headed to an east Texas lake house We had a great time fishing and exploring around the lake. I never considered myself an "outdoorsie" gal but I do like to spend sometime with mother nature every now and then. With that being said I did not catch any fish (so don't let that picture fool you) nor did I spend 4 hours straight on the dock with my fishing pole. But I did take lots of pictures...hold a fish...and drink coffee on a rocking chair with a beautiful view.
That counts for a great time in my book!
Here are some pictures that capture part of our weekend by the lake.
enjoy!!
Cotton Candy Kisses
One of my absolute FAVORITE things about this time of year is the one and onlyTexas State Fair. I mean, it's pretty amazing.I guess you could say I love it so much that my honey and I decided to get our engagement pictures there last year. I'm not a "carny" or anything, but I just enjoy the rides, games and (unfortunately) the food! I can't wait to go back in a few weeks. Until then...these pictures will have to get me by. Enjoy!! ...
DIY: Gold Skull
In the spirit of October, here is a little Halloween DIY for those who dare.
enjoy!!
I was pretty excited when I scored this orange glitter skull in the Target dollar section. I knew exactly what I wanted to do with him. My husband, however, was a little taken back by this purchase...but in the spirit of Halloween he agreed that our home could use a little festivity. All I needed was a small bottle of gold spray paint.
You could totally do "metallic" for a more intense shine.
As this was my first go at this, I went for something a little less dramatic.
