How to Make a House a Home

How to Make a House a Home

As most of you know, Austin and I built and designed the home (with lots of help, of course) that we live in. And while getting the perfect paint color, choosing fixtures, designing the outdoor patio space, etc were all important aspects of the home, one thing we wanted to keep in mind was the feel of the home. I love looking at interiors and architecture, but a lot of the time, the homes don't look liveable. They are gorgeous but not realistic, at least not for us. ...

My Favorite Etsy Shops

My Favorite Etsy Shops

There are a few questions that show up in my DMs over and over again, and one I've noticed lately is what are my favorite Etsy shops. I'm a big fan of Etsy because I think it's a great platform for people to discover small businesses that they probably wouldn't have otherwise. The best part is that you're usually getting something unique and handmade or at least made in small batches. So I hope this little mini-guide to some of my favorite Etsy shops is helpful and that you can find a few things that line up with your style. ...

A Step-By-Step Guide on How I Organized Our Fridge

A Step-By-Step Guide on How I Organized Our Fridge

With all this extra time at home lately, I’ve been spending more time staring inside my fridge wondering what my next snack is going to be. Surely, I am not alone in this. And with that, it also reminded me that my fridge was actually a mess. Austin and I decided now was a perfect time to finally give it a good clean and organizational system. I can't say this was a task I looked forward to, but we are so happy now that it's done. ...

A Look Inside My Black and White Home Office

A Look Inside My Black and White Home Office

If you've been following our hashtag #AshleyAtHome you've probably seen a little glimpse of my office, but I'm excited to finally share with you a full look at where I spend most of my day. (Now more than ever.) When we first decided to build a home back in 2017, we knew it was going to be a long process and certainly a learning experience since this was uncharted territory for both of us. However, we didn't realize how many details went into each and every little thing. Austin and I thought we could handle everything on our own but about 4 months into the home build, we realized we needed some direction and guidance. We found Urbanology Designs and immediately fell in love with their vibe. After meeting Ginger and her team, we knew we wanted to hire them to help us with our home build. It truly was money well spent. Not only did they create our dream home, but mentally, they gave us so much clarity and peace. Building a house is no easy feat and we were incredibly thankful to have their help. ...

How I Organized My Makeup and Skincare Drawer

How I Organized My Makeup and Skincare Drawer

Spring is in the air and I've been trying to get a jump start on getting things organized around here. Starting with my bathroom makeup drawers -- they are always the first to get messy. Being a self-proclaimed beauty junky for the past 10 or so years comes with its perks, but organizing hasn't always been my strong suit (if you saw my IG story of my beauty closet you know what I'm talking about). I've been determined to declutter and organize my bathroom drawers and I finally came up with a system to keep my makeup and skincare products organized. I hope you can find it helpful, too! ...

What I’m Making for Thanksgiving — Green Bean Casserole Recipe

What I’m Making for Thanksgiving — Green Bean Casserole Recipe

I love a good green bean casserole for Thanksgiving. Next to stuffing, it might be my favorite holiday side. Austin would disagree though -- he's more of a Mac and Cheese guy all the way. But he did say this was the best green bean casserole he ever had. He hasn't stopped talking about it since I made this recipe for Friendsgiving last week. ...

Our White and Gold Thanksgiving Table Setting

Our White and Gold Thanksgiving Table Setting

There are many exciting things about finally being settled in the new house,  but my favorite has to be watching it come to life during the holidays. With Thanksgiving just around the corner, we are looking forward to hosting our family and friends. As I started prepping for our table and menu, I couldn’t wait to use our new dishes from VIETRI. The dishes and serving platters from VIETRI are handcrafted and designed in Italy and I have have been so excited for them to arrive so we could start using them. We have pieces from the Lastra collection which were inspired by the overlapping wooden mold that was used for centuries to form Parmesan and other cheeses throughout Italy. They are truly incredible and perfect if you want to set them on open shelves or on display — they look like art! ...
