Since Austin and I moved in to our first home last Summer, decorating has not been an easy process. Between both of us working full time jobs (and writing for The Teacher Diva), furniture being delayed, and my indecisive nature, it's been pretty frustrating. ...
Black & White Tunic
Black and white is always a classic combo that I love to wear during any season. But now that spring is here, I'm finding any excuse to wear my white denim. I have been wearing these (under $60) many times and have found that they are really versatile. I threw on this striped tunic (only $10!) for an easy weekend look. It’s cotton so I can easily throw it in the wash (a necessary feature when you’re wearing it as often as I have been). It certainly would make a good top for spring and definitely an essential for summer!

Mini Crossbody Tote
While I typically find myself carrying an oversized bag, I recently learned that a mini cross-body can be just as effective as it is cute. I have always loved Rebecca Minkoff's bags (you may know her as the designer behind this trendy bag) and I have had my eye on this little Mini Mab Tote. The pop of pink is not the norm for me, but I loved the idea of carrying this with simple outfits or with patterns for a bold statement. It actually holds a lot more than I would have imagined, and it's the perfect accessory for running errands.
I've found that this bag comes in almost every color and I've linked my favorites under $200 from Nordstrom below.

Denim Days
When I think of a denim jacket, I immediately revert back to the (not- so- joyous) memories of middle school. I'm pretty sure GAP was the only place to score the denim jacket and I can remember all too well me wearing my jacket with my rhinestone bebe tank top. Complete with baggy sleeves of course. Yikes. Ok, well fast forward 15 years and I am actually finding myself ahem, obsessed (yeah, I said it) with this updated version from J Crew. The light color makes it really easy to wear with a lot of tops, dresses, and even denim. You can see how I paired it with this striped dress here.
Thanks for reading and have a wonderful weekend!

Blue & Orange Tunic
Happy almost Friday! We have guests coming in tonight for a weekend wedding and I am looking forward to spending time with friends from college. I've always enjoyed weddings and this one will be no exception. I am so excited for your Renit & Ryan!
Last week, I wore this orange and blue tunic (less than $20) since the weather was much warmer. I love the bright colors and fun pattern! It is the perfect addition to my summer wardrobe. It's long enough to where it could be a beach coverup or worn as a top. It's a great piece to have without breaking the bank and definitely a great find for the upcoming season!

Beauty Talk | Spring Neutrals
Now that Spring is here, this warmer weather already has me wanting to change up my makeup routine and switch out some of my winter colors for some warm, neutrals tones.
For me, I have always gravitated towards a more "natural" look when it comes to makeup. I like to keep my foundation and eyes simple, and play up areas like my lashes, cheekbones and lips. This past weekend I went through my makeup to switch out some of my winter colors with more neutral and warm tones. I decided to head to Nordstrom's Online Beauty Department (with free shipping / free returns it's hard to pass up!) and peruse the new neutrals for Spring. I love checking out the seasons new colors and this year, I decided to add lots of ivory, pink and gold tones. They make it so easy to browse specific selections rather than hunt the entire beauty department.
Here are a few of my favorite neutrals for Spring and Summer. See below for a full review of each product!
Foundation
My first step when transitioning my makeup is finding the right shade of foundation. I usually try something a little darker than my Winter face makeup. It's important for me to look for something that has SPF in it. I love to be outside as much as possible during this time of year!
Eyes
On my eyes, I tried the Bobbi Brown Long Wear Cream Eyeshadow in 'Beach Honey'. I ...

10 Minute Makeup Refresh
Up until the past few years, I never really carried makeup in my purse. Of course I had my go to lipstick and maybe a mirror, but that was about it. I realized as I started my career, that it was very typical for the other teachers to run and grab drinks or head to an early dinner after work.
I quickly found out that I needed a little refresh before heading out right after work. Like most of us, I don't always have time to reapply everything, so I've found that all I need are a few key products to give my skin that healthy glow in a short amount of time.
I have always been impressed with YSL Beauty and I was so excited to try the new 'Pop Water' Collection (a Nordstrom exclusive). All of the colors are on point for Spring and Summer.
Here are the steps I that take me from desk to dinner in 10 minutes or less. I'd love to hear what you try!
Step 1
I've always struggled with oily skin. My dermatologist says I will be thankful for that, but for now, I am trying to cover up that excess oil. Whether you have oily skin or not, it's always a good idea to blot and powder at the end of the day. I don't know about you, but my face could use a little more coverage come 5 o'clock. This pressed powder by YSL is the key to keeping my skin ...
Chambray & White
Good morning! I hope everyone is having a great week. Sorry for being a little quiet lately. This is a very busy week with with school and I am spending my extra time focusing on my classroom! While those snow days were nice, us teachers are all now scrambling between conference makeups (our parent/teacher conferences happened to fall on one of the snowdays!) and rescheduling Open House on Thursday. Let's just say...come on Friday!
In the meantime, let me tell you about my love for chambray. I really can't pass up a good chambray top. This Chambray Blouse (50% OFF with code BESTSALE1 ) was hit the second I saw it hanging on the rack. Don't you love those moments? I love the fit and length. I kept it simple and threw on my go to White Pants and Cross Body Bucket Bag. Sometimes it's nice just going back to the basics.
