Color block Poncho

Color block Poncho

Hi everyone! First off, major apologies for my absence this week on the blog. After returning from New York Fashion Week, I set off to Houston for an event with Banana Republic Thursday night. It was so nice meeting those of you who came out and I appreciate the snapchat's and comments! It's been a busy week, but I wanted to share with you all a look that I shot right before I left for NYC. This color block poncho it such a fun neutral and I love the faux leather trim. I've been wearing it with distressed skinny jeans or these white jeans and loved the way these over the knee boots looked with poncho. As much as I can't wait for Spring, this is a great piece to get me by until then (and you can't beat the price). Thanks for reading! xx OUTFIT DETAILS: She In

Coffee Run

Coffee Run

Each weekend, Austin and I look forward to what we call our "breakfast date". It's a little tradition we picked up from my in-laws (they've done this for several years!), where we go try a new place for breakfast on Saturday or after church on Sunday. We love this part of the weekend and this encourages us to get out, try new things, and enjoy the city we live in! Our schedules are pretty busy at times, so we look forward to that quality time, just the two of us. One of our recent trips was to Boulangerie by Village Baking Co. on Lower Greenville. This little cafe is so adorable with white marble tables, checkered stools, and not to mention the pastries are quite yummy. This was our first trip but it will not be our last! I highly recommend the Almond Croissant and Austin recommends the Bacon and Cheddar Croissant. I loved wearing this colorful outfit while we were out. You may have noticed, I tend to wear a lot of neutrals and black, so this was a change for me...but I love it! This Ferragamo Shoulder Bag from Luisaviaroma is the perfect neutral color and goes with so many prints and patterns. I loved the way it looked with this teal blazer. Seeing these colors together make me ...

The Perfect Work Pant

The Perfect Work Pant

Over the past few months, many of you have expressed that you love to see work wear on The Teacher Diva. And while I am no longer in an office per se, I do appreciate a good pair of "work pants". After teaching for several years, I have accumulated a few styles that I consider my "go-to" pants. My co workers and I would joke about how hard it is to find a pair of pants that are 1. flattering and 2. easy to move in while chasing a classroom of 6 year olds. Though I'm in a much different environment now, I still have opportunities where a good pair of black pants come in handy. This pair is the Avery Tailored Crop Pant from Banana Republic. I have always shopped at Banana for both work wear and casual weekend pieces, and find myself pursuring their "new arrivals" almost daily (I guess signing up for the Gap card was worth it, ha!). What I like most about the Avery Style, is the slim, straight fit. They aren't your typical "skinny fit" but they are slimming and I found them to be flattering in both heels or flats. Think of them as a modern update to the cropped pant. Seriously, a year round staple! If you're looking for a traditional "skinny pant" you need to try the Sloan Slim Ankle Pant. ...

Black & White Spots

Black & White Spots

If there's one blouse you need to own, it's this Tiered Tunic by Maeve. I love longer tops, so it's no surprise I found this one last week when checking out Anthropologie's 40% Off Sale. Unfortunately, this wasn't on sale, but it was too good to pass up. I actually want to buy it in white and another print! For an office look, simply pair this tunic black pants (I also love these white trousers) . If you want a little more color, I found these green pants that would look adorable with this top. I love the idea of pairing this with a Nude Pump or keeping it comfy is a pair of flats. If  you're looking for something a little more casual, I opted to pair it with my Current Elliot Jeans and Nine West Purple Flats. This Wool Moto Jacket is (finally) on sale, and I can't help but get excited to wear this through winter and early spring. I love winter whites and this coat is beautiful (and ...

The Perfect Shirt Dress

The Perfect Shirt Dress

TGIF! I always get excited when I find something that will quickly become a staple in my closet (and happens to be under $100) . This shirt dress is one of them (see below for sizing). This is an easy look that be worn casually with flats, like these Tory Burch Espadrilles (budget friendly version here) or with a cute pair of wedges or sandals. I wanted to keep this low key so I threw on my Rebecca Minkoff Mini Mab Tote and a fun panama hat and called it a day. This was a fun look for brunch last Saturday and will definitely be coming with me on our trip to Napa next month! Have you guys shopped the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale yet? If so I would love to know what you bought! You can see my picks from yesterday here and I also added more below. I purchased this watch, I passed on it last year and have been regretting it since. Couldn't let it go again! I also bought these pink ...

Printed Shorts

Printed Shorts

While Summer in Texas can be brutally hot, I still love the look of long sleeves with shorts. Obviously, they aren't for 100 degree days, but I find that I love to wear this look for dinner or if it's overcast. These printed shorts (on sale) are one of my favorite styles to wear for summer. I like that they are a little longer and structured. They don't wrinkle easily- which is amazing! I like that they can be dressed up with a silk blouse tucked in wearing heels, or worn a little more casually seen here. This pink knit sweater (on sale) is one that can worn all year long. It's not sheer by any means, but the material isn't as thick making it appropriate to wear during warmer months. Outfit Details: Banana Republic Pink Knit Sweater (wearing a small) and Printed Shorts (wearing a 2) | YSL Small De Jour | Tory Burch Espadrilles (budget friendly version

5 Shoe Styles We Are Seeing Everywhere (and will continue to wear in 2024)

5 Shoe Styles We Are Seeing Everywhere (and will continue to wear in 2024)

It's definitely been the year of flats, and I have zero complaints. We've seen ballet flats to retro sneakers become quite popular again in 2023. Some would argue that they've always been popular, but as of late, it seems these styles are in demand more than most. I've curated a selection that I believe will remain well-liked in 2024. And even if you're typically a devoted fan of heels, the picks below may just inspire a change of heart. Surprisingly, the variety of stylish flat shoe options is more extensive than one might expect. ...
