Fringed Cape

Fringed Cape

One of my favorite "fall essentials" is the cape (you can see how I've styled them over the past year here and here). This fringe cape caught my eye because it's a great layering piece that can be worn with skinny jeans or black denim (on sale). I always like to layer capes over a lightweight sweater or t-shirt. They are an easy way to complete any outfit and a great transition piece. For me, capes are great this time of year because the Texas weather can be so unpredictable. I pretty much live in layers during the fall and this cape is no exception. PS: have you guys been able to shop the Shopbop Sale? See my favorite picks for fall here! Thanks for reading! xx

Fringe Details

Fringe Details

With fringe being a huge trend this season, I couldn't help but feel the need to participate. While this fringe cardigan is a little out of my comfort zone, I thought it was too fun to pass up! I also love the idea of pairing it with a skirt or an all black ensemble. I've had a few of you email asking if fringe is a "quick fad", or something we may see long term. I'm not at expert (by any means) but I do know that it was seen all over the runways during NYFW. Meaning we can expect to see fringe throughout 2016. However, If you're not one to jump in feet first, I suggest starting with something small. Like a fringed ankle boot ( I also love these)  or maybe a pair of heels. I have this bucket bag and I find that it has just the right amount of fringe. It goes with so much!  Both are good options for those who don't want to fully invest in the trend. What fringe pieces are you loving?

The Fringe Bucket Bag

The Fringe Bucket Bag

As a long time fan of Rebecca Minkoff I am so excited to share with you one of her latest handbags from her exclusive collection with Nordstrom. You may have noticed fringe is a huge trend for fall and winter fashion and after seeing this trend all over the runways, I couldn't wait to see how I could incorporate it into a realistic, everyday look. Not limited to jackets, we are seeing fringe details on skirts, dresses, and my favorite... handbags.   This fringe bucket bag by Rebecca Minkoff was exactly what I wanted. I love the size and the fact that the strap can adjust for a cross-body or shoulder bag. The fringe details are the right amount of "trend" without being over the top and I have found that this bag goes with so many prints, solids, and textures. Rebecca Minkoff is one of my favorite designers and I have been carrying her purses and accessories for years. I was thrilled to see that this bag was part of her collaboration with Nordstrom (and couldn't wait to get one for myself). The bag also comes in brown and green. See more from Rebecca Minkoff here.  Thanks for stopping by! xx

Boho & Fringe

Boho & Fringe

A few weeks ago, my family and I traveled to Seaside, Florida. We had the best time and I can not wait to go back! While we was there, Megan (my sis-in-law) and I spent one morning exploring the town of Seaside and Rosemary Beach. We loved grabbing coffee at the local market and stopping by Willow and Willow + Woods for a little shopping. The Tory Burch, Trina Turk, Rebecca Taylor labels caught our eye in the window so we were excited to pop in and see what goodies we could find. When we stepped inside Willow at Rosemary Beach, I immediately feel in love with this dress by Rebecca Taylor (among many other things). With fall on it's way, I am starting to think about transitional outfits that are practical, yet on point for the new season. I love this dress because it can do just that and the boho print is very fun for fall. I paired it with these fringe heels (also found at Willow) by the brand,

Gray Fringe

Gray Fringe

Cardigans will always be my favorite look for casual wear. Maybe that's the "teacher" in me, but I love the simplicity of an oversized cardigan with a great pair of pants, jewels, and of course shoes! Now this obviously isn't a look I'd rock in the classroom, but it is one I would wear any other time. This Fringed Cardigan (now on sale) from ASOS has been my go look for a casual weekend look. It's super soft and cozy and one that is so easy to wear. I loved pairing it with these boyfriend jeans (similar) and heels. What is your go to look for the weekend?      Shop the Post: ASOS Fringed Cardigan (On Sale! // Wearing a US size 4) | Boyfriend Jeans (old, similar style here) | Charles David Nude Pumps (my fave! And now on sale!) | BaubleBar

Fringe

Fringe

I love hot summer nights and short dresses. This fringed dress from Elizabeth & James is my favorite. Kimonos are so fun and the fringe adds a flirty look. I actually purchased this a couple years ago to wear to my bridal brunch but here are some similar options, 1, 2, 3, 4. You could always add a fun belt with those options to give a unique look.   This Ara Nicole bracelet was the perfect piece to pair with t. Don't forget you can save 20% on your purchase using the code TEACHERDIVA20. Oh, and speaking of Ara Nicole, congrats to Sara H and Mahsa K! They each won a $40 giftcard to Ara Nicole Boutique. If you didn't win, you can use that code to get your jewelry fix. Thanks to all that entered! ...

5 Shoe Styles We Are Seeing Everywhere (and will continue to wear in 2024)

5 Shoe Styles We Are Seeing Everywhere (and will continue to wear in 2024)

It's definitely been the year of flats, and I have zero complaints. We've seen ballet flats to retro sneakers become quite popular again in 2023. Some would argue that they've always been popular, but as of late, it seems these styles are in demand more than most. I've curated a selection that I believe will remain well-liked in 2024. And even if you're typically a devoted fan of heels, the picks below may just inspire a change of heart. Surprisingly, the variety of stylish flat shoe options is more extensive than one might expect. ...

Black Friday Sales Worth Shopping (and what’s in my cart)

Black Friday Sales Worth Shopping (and what’s in my cart)

Cyber Week is honestly one of the most overwhelming weeks when it comes to sales, so I'm making it easy and sharing the places I shop and a few things currently in my cart.  For clothing, I have this striped sweater and this pink feather dress (this feels a little out of my norm but love with silver heels for a party  in my cart. I also bought the kids these Magnatiles, they are obsessed. I also have these pink wine glasses on my wishlist. If you need a hostess gift, get the Hotel Lobby Candle in Holiday — the absolute best candle and no headaches. What are you shopping for? xx Ashley ...
