Each weekend, Austin and I look forward to what we call our "breakfast date". It's a little tradition we picked up from my in-laws (they've done this for several years!), where we go try a new place for breakfast on Saturday or after church on Sunday. We love this part of the weekend and this encourages us to get out, try new things, and enjoy the city we live in! Our schedules are pretty busy at times, so we look forward to that quality time, just the two of us.
One of our recent trips was to Boulangerie by Village Baking Co. on Lower Greenville. This little cafe is so adorable with white marble tables, checkered stools, and not to mention the pastries are quite yummy. This was our first trip but it will not be our last! I highly recommend the Almond Croissant and Austin recommends the Bacon and Cheddar Croissant.
I loved wearing this colorful outfit while we were out. You may have noticed, I tend to wear a lot of neutrals and black, so this was a change for me...but I love it! This Ferragamo Shoulder Bag from Luisaviaroma is the perfect neutral color and goes with so many prints and patterns. I loved the way it looked with this teal blazer. Seeing these colors together make me ...
Holiday Fun in Dallas
Hi everyone! As promised, here is a list of my favorite things to do in Dallas during the holiday season. I love living in the area and always feel like a tourist in my own city during Christmas. There is just so much to do!
Enjoy!! xx
1. Highland Park Village This has always been one of my favorite spots in Dallas. During the holidays they have every tree lit up with beautiful white lights. It’s so gorgeous! Each year, Austin and I have our “Christmas Date” here. The night consists of dinner at Mi Cocina followed by a coffee at Starbucks or Royal Blue Grocery (new coffee shop). Then, we drive through the neighborhoods to look at all the Christmas lights and listen to Christmas music. It's one of my very favorite traditions!
2. The Carriage Rides at Highland Park Village While you’re in Dallas, why not ride in a horse drawn carriage through the neighborhoods of Highland Park. Sit back and sip on some hot cocoa as you look at all the lights and homes decorated for the holidays! My family has done this before and it was so much fun. Be sure to make a reservation, they book up fast!
3. The Trains at Northpark This is geared towards the little ones but one ...
Fall in Dallas
Things are finally starting to cool down around Dallas and I wanted to share with your some fun things to do in the DFW area with your friends or family. I love this season for many reasons, but nothing beats this weather. Here are a few fun activities to do outside this fall:
Autumn at the Arboretum
Going to the arboretum in the Fall is one of my favorite traditions. These photo's were actually taken at the Arboretum, however, it only shows a small part of what they have to offer. From the Pumpkin Village to the rose garden, it's a fun place to go with friends or family. There are plenty of places to eat inside, but you can also bring in food or drinks. Be sure to wear flats, it's a lot of walking!
Kylde Warren Park Food Trucks
Klyde Warren Park has always been a favorite of mine. Now that the weather has cooled off, it's a great place to check out. We love the food trucks (beware, it gets very busy!) and the dog park. The food trucks are open from 11:00-3:00 and sometime stay open later. Our favorite truck is The Butcher's Son. For a full list of things to do at the park, visit here.

Holiday Events in Dallas
I love living in Dallas. I've lived here since I was 12, and each year, more and more opportunities come to Dallas to make this city even more exciting. I know a lot of you live in the area, and some of you have emailed me saying you were traveling here for the holidays. I always get asked about dining, shopping, and entertainment so I figured I'd share some of my favorite places to go while in the city for the holidays. Most of these are family friendly so feel free to bring on the kids! Happy Holidays! xx
1. Highland Park Village This has always been one of my favorite spots in Dallas. During the holidays they have every tree (more like branch) lit up with beautiful white lights. It's so gorgeous! Each year, Austin and I have our "Christmas Date" here and we hit up Mi Cocina, Starbucks then drive through the neighborhoods to look at lights and jam to Christmas tunes. While I visit the village often, this is probably my favorite date that we have and I look forward to it every year. The shopping is pretty fabulous too!
2. The Carriage Rides at Highland Park Village While you're in Dallas, why not take a festive horse drawn carriage to take you through the neighborhoods of Highland Park. Sit back and sip on some hot cocoa as you look at all the lights and homes decorated for the holidays! My family has done this before and it was so much fun ...

3.24.12
One year ago I married my best friend. Looking back on these pictures brings tears to my eyes. It was such a perfect day. I think about all of our family and friends who celebrated with us and it truly seems magical. This year has taught me many things. One of those being that cereal is not considered a dinner option...and the importance of organizing my 17 bottles of hair products neatly. But nonetheless, I didn't know life could be so great being married to Austin. I am so thankful for the memories this year has brought and I look forward to what year two of marriage brings for us.

Neiman Marcus Beauty Event
One of my favorite times at Neiman Marcus is when they host their Spring Beauty Event. I love buying makeup and getting some freebies makes it all the better.
This time, I decided to go with a classic and give Bobbi Brown a try. I have used her Shimmer Gloss and Shimmer Brick for many years but I wanted to give her foundation a try. I was determined to find something that would actually stay on my face and not wear off by 4:00.
The lady at the counter seemed pretty confident she could hook me up with something that would take care of that problem, however I had another issue I needed to deal with. She handed me a magnified mirror with lights and pointed out how dry my skin was. Then proceeded to tell me once you hit 25 you need to start using anti aging skin care and moisturize like it's your job. Cool, I'm turing 26 on Sunday and have yet to get on that. I was pretty embarrassed to admit that I only use moisturizer at night...if that. I just assumed since I was more oily, that I got a free pass on moisturizer. No? She put some of the hydrating face and eye cream on my face and I could tell right away my skin felt different. Maybe I was just "in the moment" but it felt amazing. We tested out a few foundations and I felt that the stick was a good starting point for me. I really like that you can put it on with this
Do In Dallas | Warby Parker Bus
Back in 8th grade I tricked my parents into thinking I needed glasses. After many days of convincing, we went to the eye doctor. As you could probably guess, I didn't do to well on my eye exam and ended up "needing" glasses. I was so pumped and thought I looked so cool...until I got massive headaches and my eyes hurt. Bummer!
Well, with all that said you could only imagine how excited I was to find out that Warby Parker was coming to Dallas. If you don't know, Warby Parker is an eyewear company that makes both prescription and non prescription glasses for only $95. They also have an amazing selection of sunglasses too! When you make a purchase they will donate a pair of glasses to someone in need. Awesome! Warby Parker is based in NYC but they are currently touring select cities in their decked out "school bus". I was so excited to hear Dallas was on their list of stops. If you live in the area...go check it out! They leave Dallas tomorrow, Sunday, Jan. 27th. In the mean time, I will be sporting my new specs headache free. ...
