5 Face Masks for Glowing Skin

Face Mask Review

I think it’s safe to say, we all want great skin. A smooth texture, glowing skin, and a clear complexion are the top on my list! And believe it or not, face masks are a great way to help with your skincare concerns.

After turning 30, I really started to fine-tune my skincare routine. Though I keep it pretty simple, microneedling at night and using a mask twice a week are now part of my weekly skincare routine.

As a self proclaimed beauty junkie, I’ve had the opportunity to try several masks over the years. While there are many great options out there (how did I even limit this to 5?), I wanted to share my tried-and-true favorites for glowing skin. Have you tried any of these? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below! xx Ashley

5 FACE MASKS FOR GLOWING SKIN

THE BEST HYDRATING:

GLOW RECIPE WATERMELON GLOW SLEEPING MASK

I shared this on instagram-stories a few weeks ago and was very excited to give this a try. Did you know this product had a 5,000 person wait list? Hi, I was one of them! The Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask is formulated with soothing, amino-acid rich Watermelon Extract, Hyaluronic Acid, and pore-refining AHAs that work while you sleep to gently exfoliate and clarify. When I got this in the mail I had VERY high expectations. But after the first use, I really didn’t notice anything. I went ahead and tried it again, because after all, it had pretty stellar reviews. I tried it the very next night and did in fact wake up with softer, hydrated skin. I guess my skin just needed an extra boost? All in all, I am now addicted to this watermelon mask. and use it whenever my skin needs a boost of hydration.

I questioned how the whole “sleeping mask” was going to work, but it melts into your skin and it just feels like you have a little extra moisturizer on. Oh and it smells like a Jolly Rancher (in the best way possible of course).

EXFOLIATING + SMOOTHER TEXTURE:

JOANNA VARGAS EXFOLIATING MASK

This is the best exfoliator I have ever used. The Exfoliating Mask by Joanna Vargas works to brighten the skin and tighten pores for a flawless appearance. The Lactic acid and fruit enzymes also help boost cell turnover. This mask is made up of Kaolin clay and volcanic ash to gently draw out impurities without stripping skin. The best part? It’s safe for sensitive skin!

I use the Exfoliating Mask once a week, usually on Sundays and it preps and opens my skin for any products that follow. On days that I use this, I will not use any other exfoliator (chemical or manual). I’ll usually follow with a hydrating cream and seal it in with a favorite face oil.

FOR ACNE + OILY SKIN:

SUNDAY RILEY SATURN SULFUR ACNE TREATMENT MASK

Being someone who has acne prone skin, this is a mask I use often. This is a newer product from Sunday Riley and I can honestly say I saw results immediately after one use. That’s right, one use. Think of it like a detox for your skin. You don’t want to use it too often, but when you do, things will happen! My pores were visibly smaller and my blemishes nearly vanished.

I like this mask because it’s multi purpose. You can use it as a spot treatment or leave it on for 15-20 minutes then rinse with warm water. When my skin feels congested, I will actually sleep in this mask. The smell isn’t great, but guys this stuff works and is ideal for breakouts and oiliness. Your T-Zone will thank you!

ORGANIC + NATURAL:

REN GLYCOL LACTIC RADIANCE RENEWAL MASK

REN Clean Skincare is a brand I have used for several months now and the Glycol Mask is simply amazing. I did a full review over this mask and highly recommend this if you are looking for natural skincare that works. It brightens and chemically exfoliates through four different acids—glycolic, lactic, citric, and tartaric. You skin will feel softer immediately after one use.

MY FAVORITE SHEET MASK:

ESTEE LAUDER ADVANCED NIGHT REPAIR CONCENTRATED RECOVERY POWERFOIL MASK

Hands down- my favorite sheet mask ever. I’ve mentioned this mask on here before, and still find this to be the best for hydration, glow and texture. I like to use this after a flight (your skin gets very dehydrated on airplanes), the night before an event, or when my skin is in need of a serious pick-me-up. I also use the leftover serum from the package on the décolletage (you don’t waste this!). Out of everything I’ve tried, this sheet mask remains my favorite!
