5 Mini Bags for Summer 2018

This season has brought with it an exceptional crop of lust-worthy bags. From backpacks (this one is such a good price) and bucket bags to crossbodys, there’s plenty of options. In particular with mini bags.

To be honest, I wasn’t sure about the mini bag trend at first. Being someone who likes to have her iPhone, small makeup pouch, wallet, and keys on hand at all times, a mini bag didn’t seem functional for me. But when I saw the Chloe Faye Backpack in-store earlier this year, it had me thinking of ways I could downsize.

After seeing it in person and getting a real look and feel of the bag, I found that the size was actually pretty appealing. It’s large enough to hold my keys, iPhone, and other small daily essentials, and super easy to wear. It’s very lightweight.

I wear it as a backpack most of the time, but the chain is detachable so I can easily carry it on my shoulder when I want to. The best part? The beautiful white color! Even though I considered buying my usual brown or black, I’m so glad I opted for the white! Such a refreshing color for summer, right?

1. Chloe Faye Mini Backpack

Small but mighty! Like I mentioned above, this little backpack has been a great purchase. I especially love the detachable straps. Here’s a similar style under $50.

2. Straw Faux Leather Bucket Bag

This is one of my favorites of the bunch. As you may have guessed by my previous posts, I love a good bucket bag. And the straw detailing on this one is just perfect for summer! Bonus: it’s under $50.

3. Gucci Mini GG Marmont 2.0 Matelassé Leather Shoulder Bag

This little flap bag is a classic, and from what I hear, actually holds more than you’d think. Several of my friends have this little guy and love it. A great option for day or night.

4. Leather Drawstring Bucket Bag

A bucket bag is the ultimate staple – understated, chic, and goes with everything. It comes in a variety of colors and they’re all equally fabulous. If you haven’t tried a Madewell leather bag yet, I highly suggest it. They are in fact, made well (see what I did there) and quite durable.

5. Crossbody Bag

If you’re looking for something new, I recently discovered this bag from Rebecca Minkoff. It would make an excellent addition to any bag collection and the color is ideal for year-round wear.
