Introducing Ashley at Home!

The best time for new beginnings is now. Austin and I have some news that we’ve been keeping a secret for the past year. And my gosh, it’s been very difficult to not spill the beans. But the time has come! We can officially tell you that we are building a house!

And so the adventure begins.

Let me take you back to last May when Austin and I started the whole house hunting process. At first, we weren’t sure if we wanted to build a new home, remodel an existing home or just search for that perfect, pre-existing home. We knew this wouldn’t be an easy task, but our search continued. And after seeing a lot of options that we didn’t want, our vision became clearer of what we did want. It was then that we started to explore the option of a custom build. We interviewed different builders and we soon found that our dream home might be achievable.

We will be documenting more of this process in our new series, Ashley at Home, through video, blog posts, and social media. We can’t wait to share with you guys what we’ve been up to over the past year and catch you up to where we are now. Though this is our second home, it’s our first build. The entire experience has been fun and challenging. It’s been a huge learning opportunity for us. And though we have been faced with some tough moments, there is beauty in the process. At least that’s what they say, right? But in all honesty, we could not have done it without the help of our designer, Ginger, from Urbanology Designs. You will get to know her pretty soon as she has played an integral part in the design and feel of our new home.

We are a bit emotional to say goodbye to our very first home, but we trust the Lord will use this new house for His glory, create new memories and hopefully, one day, be the house we raise a family in. Cheers to a new home, a new adventure, and new memories! x A&A
