Let’s talk fall basics, shall we? I know it’s August, but if you’re like me, fall is already on the brain. And with that comes reorganizing my closet, finding the sweaters I reach for year after year and investing in a few new pieces to wear this season.
It’s without question that my most worn fall item is my faux suede moto jacket. I have one in tan, black and now this gorgeous hunter green color from Nordstrom. A moto jacket like this can be worn over a slip dress or with a black cami + black denim. Here, I kept it casual (well as casual as you can be in these heels) for dinner with some of our friends. Which reminds me, if you come to Dallas be sure to go to Jose on Lovers — an upbeat and fun atmosphere with the most delicious Mexican food. Austin and I will meet you there, ha!
Below are 5 basic pieces on my radar this fall. Do you have any of these in your closet already? I’m buying these Marc Fisher booties ASAP! xx Ashley
1. VEGAN SUEDE MOTO JACKET
Like I said, I have this in black and tan too. When it’s good, it’s good! I found it to run TTS.
2. WESTERN INSPIRED BOOTIES
I’ll be honest, I’m not 100% into the western boot trend. But I do like some that have a subtle western flare. I always love a pointed toe, so it was easy to get on board with this pair.
3. LEOPARD BLOUSE
Very much into leopard this season. I’ve honestly always loved leopard, it’s just a classic to me. Pair this blouse with a red lip (my newest obsession is Le Orange. A firey red that is so so good) and a low messy bun and you’ll be giving off some major “Parisian-chic” vibes.
4. STRIPE SWEATER
Is there anything more classic than a relaxed striped sweater? I wear mine literally once a week when the weather cools down. This one is a great closet staple and under $50.
5. PLAID BLAZER
My most worn item in my wardrobe is the blazer, and this plaid one is just too good. If you follow me on Instagram, you know I am already sporting them. Yep, even in this heat. I get chilly in the office so it works out for the best. If you don’t own a blazer yet, this is the one you need. Need evidence? Check here, here and here!
