Unboxing: The Tatcha Holiday Sets

It’s no secret I love to try new things in my skincare and makeup routine. You’ve seen me try various products on my insta-stories and I’ve introduced you to several products over the years that I have now added to my daily routine. One brand that has been a top favorite and one that I continue to repurchase for the last 2 years is Tatcha. It all started with their cult favorite Luminous Dewy Skin Mist and then my curiosity continued to grow as I kept trying more and more products.

If you’re new to Tatcha, it’s a Japanese beauty brand that focuses on the minimalist philosophy. The Japanese skincare philosophy has the “fewer better” approach — a few steps in a ritual, a few simple but powerful ingredients. From rice brans to pearls, these ingredients have been used for centuries to brighten, hydrate and exfoliate the skin. And yes, it really works.

Below, I’m going to unbox one of the new Tatcha Holiday Kits — which are a great intro if you are new to the brand. Don’t forget to take advantage of the Friends & Family Event! Today only, enjoy 20% off sitewide. Use code: FRIENDS18 at checkout (valid today only, limit of one code redemption per household).

Need help choosing what to get? Feel free to comment below. I’ve honestly tried almost everything in the Tatcha family so I’m happy to help. xx Ashley

The Purifying & Pore-Perfecting Trio

The perfect set for anyone with oily or acne prone skin. But if you are someone that needs a little hydration, I would suggest The Started Ritual Set, which is formulated specifically for dry skin. This kit includes Pure One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil, The Deep Cleanse and (my favorite product in the trio) The Water Cream.

Pure One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil

This gentle makeup remover cleanses the skin of makeup and impurities. This is the perfect first step in your nightly routine.

The Deep Cleanse

This oil-free gel cleanser is ideal for combination skin. The tiny micro beads work as a natural exfoliant and the cleanser is made with clarifying extracts to lift impurities and balance skin’s moisture. You can use this morning and night.

The Water Cream

This is the ideal cream for those who have oily or acne prone skin. You know I have raved about a gel moisturizer for years. If you love a gel moisturizer but need a little boost during the winter months, this is your product.

This oil-free formula brings to life the “less is more” Japanese skincare philosophy with pure, minimal ingredients formulated with everything you need and nothing you don’t. The result is smooth, poreless skin that is perfectly prepped for makeup (personally, I still use a primer on some spots on my face, but you certainly do not need to use a primer all over if you are using The Water Cream).

Luminous Dewy Skin Mist

My holy grail beauty product is a skin mist and nothing compares to this one. What makes this one unique is the application. It comes out in a very fine mist so it doesn’t disrupt your makeup or make your skin look “wet”.  And can be reapplied throughout the day as needed.

I use mine with my beauty sponge after my makeup is finished. I will do 3-4 mists across my face and gently blend with my sponge by dabbing around my face. This final step helps blend my makeup and leaves my skin looking hydrated. I keep a mini one in my purse for touchups — which would make an excellent stocking stuffer!

The Silk Canvas

I recently discovered this product in September at New York Fashion Week. My makeup artist used this skin perfecting primer on me and I was so impressed I ran out and bought one that day.

You only need a little and I personally don’t use this all over my face. Just on the areas that need special attention.

The Kissu Lip Mask

This is a newer product for me, but so far I’m into it. My lips get so dry this time of year. I use this lip mask at night and it helps restore moisture. I also do a DIY sugar scrub once a week and it seems to do the trick.

Interesting! I’ve never heard of this brand because it’s marketed outside of Japan. I’ve got to say, the packaging is really cute…! <3
