A few weeks ago we went to Aspen for the fist time and absolutely loved it. Austin was turning 35, so we wanted to celebrate him and go somewhere that’s always been on our bucket list. We usually never take snowy trips because we love the beach, but this trip really surprised us. We loved Aspen. So much, that we are planning another trip for next year. It was wonderful, cozy and there is so much to do.
A lot of my outfits from my trip can be found here and here. Enjoy! xx AR
Where to Stay, Eat and Shop in Aspen
HOTELS:
Hotel Jerome
This is where we stayed. It was cozy, moody and lively at night. We really enjoyed staying here. The staff was friendly and welcoming. A few things we loved about the hotel were the free mini bar snacks. That’s right they had quite the variety of yummy snacks and drinks for you to choose from during your stay. The coffee shop, Felix Roasting Co. was located right outside the lobby which made it really convent to grab a drink before exploring the town. Literally everything you want to do is in the hotel. Trust me, you’ll love staying here.
St. Regis
We did not stay here, but several of my friends have and spoke very highly of it. The property is also much larger than Hotel Jerome and kid-friendly. If you are looking to do a spa, this is the one to go to. They have a lot more spa services and amenities.
DINING:
Coffee: Felix Roasting Co.
Breakfast: Poppyocks
Lunch: Ajax Tavern – located at the base of the ski lift on Aspen mountain. Nice views. Amazing truffle fries.
Lunch: White House Tavern – basically Honor Bar but still delicious
Dinner: Matshuisha
Dinner: Casa Tua
Dinner: Catch Steak – The truffle butter filet was incredible. I am still thinking about it.
SHOPPING:
Hotel Jerome is located right in the heart of the town. So you can walk to any of the shops. They have everything from Dior, Gucci to some local favorites like Kemo Sabe (the cowboy hat place). We never needed a shuttle except to go to Snowmass.
ACTIVITIES:
We went in January, so I can’t speak for summer activities. But I hear the summer is really nice and there’s lots to do.
Aside from skiing and snowboarding, you can take the Aspen Silver Queen Gondola to the top of Aspen Mountain and eat at the restaurant or grab a drink. Aspen Mountain is ideal if you are an experienced skier but several people just like to take the Gondola up to look at the views or eat at the restaurant. It was very cozy and good people watching.
If you want to do different types of snow activities, go to Snowmass (Hotel Jerome has a free shuttle). It’s about a 15-20 minute drive. Do not take the bus, they make several stops and your trip will be almost an hour each way.
Snowmass is very kid friendly and offers activities for the whole family. We did tubing and loved it! They also have an ice skating rink, snowshoe hiking, snow mobiles. They also had free s’mores everyday (yum). A lot of people go here for ski school too.
It was honestly such a fun trip and vibe. I can’t wait to go back!
