Tan Poncho

Tan Poncho

Happy Friday everyone! It's a happy day indeed because at 3:00 I officially start my "Thanksgiving break". Now before you start rolling your eyes, please note that at this very moment I am teaching 105 *very excited*  students the "Thanksgiving Story" by assembling color coordinated beaded bracelets. Sounds easy right? Jokes aside, I actually love it and truly get excited for this time of year with my kiddos. Now, let's talk about this outfit. When I saw this poncho, I knew it was a sweater I would wear constantly. It is so soft and versatile. I wore it last week with a black turtleneck and black skinnies under it and today I am showing you a more festive way to style this look. I think this would be the perfect Thanksgiving outfit or better yet, just a good one to have in your closet! The Holiday Skirt

The Holiday Skirt

Ever since getting the Nora Skirt from Corilynn, I couldn't wait to wear it. Nothing makes me feel more girly than a classic fitting skirt and a great pair of pumps. This was the perfect look for dinner during our staycation at The Joule. I am new to the brand Corilynn, but after reading up on this amazing company, it was easy to see why they are so popular. Not only do they have beautiful clothing, but it's made incredibly well. Each piece is dreamed, designed, and stitched right here in the USA. I have my eye The Audrey Skirt (love that navy!) and this blouse!     Shop the Post: Corilynn The Nora Skirt (true to size) c/o | Bradamant The Closer BodySuit (true to size) c/o | Tory Burch Robinson Crossbody | Michael Kors Slim ...

15 Minute Curls Hair Tutorial

15 Minute Curls Hair Tutorial

One of my favorite hairstyles is simple loose curls. It's the style I wear almost daily, and it's one that I can achieve in 15 minutes. It took me years to finally figure out how to curl my hair without it being "too curly" and I want to share with you a few tips and tricks to achieve loose curls that will stay all day. Here are the steps: And yes, your hair can hold curls! What You Need: Spornette Teasing Comb Boar Hair Brush (only $12!) Hot Tools 1 in. Curling Iron (on sale for $30) Hairspray (I used Bumble and Bumble Spray De Mode) Step 1: Go to bed with wet hair. Letting your hair air dry is the best kept secret to helping hair hold curls. I use one pump of Drybar 100 Proof Treatment Oil when its wet and brush with a wide tooth comb. I throw my hair up in a messy bun and let it air dry over night. Step 2: Depending on hair texture, you may or may not want to add a little more of the 100 Proof Oil. Obviously I color my hair so it can always use a little moisture. Brush your hair out using a boar ...

Bow Peplum

Bow Peplum

Camilyn Beth has quickly become one of my favorite designers. You may know her for her classic dresses, but I recently fell in love with this bow peplum top. Last weekend, Austin and I went out for a date night and I wore this little number. I love peplums, but I'm always a little hesitant because I worry about the fit and if it will look flattering. Thanks to CB, she helped me find the right size and it was perfect. I kept thinking that with the holidays around the corner, this would make an excellent choice for parties, events or date night! Whether you go dress or top, each Camilyn Beth piece is going to be something that will last and will stand true to it's classic style. \   Shop the Post: Camilyn Beth Bow Peplum ( wearing a size 4, if busty size up) c/o | 7 For All Man Kind Back Denim | Clare Vivier Leopard Clutch | SJP Fawn 100 Pump | Michael Kors

Every girl needs the perfect "power pumps" (how's that for alliteration?). You know, the pair of heels that make you feel like you own the room, can accomplish anything, and just make you feel the upmost confidence. Thanks to Sarah Jessica Parker's shoe collection at Nordstrom, I have found my "power pumps".  It's not a surprise that the SJP Collection is absolutely stunning. Between the Fawn 100 Pump and the Carrie T-Strap Pump, it was hard choosing just one pair. This classic style, goes with just about anything. Be sure to check out more of my favorites from SJP below!    Shop The Post: SJP Fawn 100 Pump (despite reviews, I found these to be true to size!) | Tweed Jacket (on sale!! Black & Leather

Black & Leather

While my closet consists of many colors and textures, I always seem to gravitate towards black or grey pieces. There is something about black on black that seems classic to me. When I saw this sweater from Bradamant, I knew I wanted to pair it with black bottoms (you may remember me posting about these body suits here). I wear that blouse all the time and I know the same will be true for this sweater. But this monochromatic look required some type of texture and statement. This leather skirt was the perfect way to make this look a little more interesting and not so boring. The zippers added some edge and the necklace kept things feminine. The whole collection is amazing. I can't wait to try this bodysuit!     Shop The Post: Bradamant Sweater (bodysuit) The Closer (true to size, wearing a small) c/o | Leather Skirt (old from forever 21, here are similar styles) | Nine West
