I am so excited to introduce you to the brand behind the luxe bedding and linens, Peacock Alley. Many of you know that Austin and I have been spending quite some time working on our home updates and we can't wait to share our home with you next week. One of the items on our list was investing in new bedding. Knowing friends and family that have shopped with Peacock Alley, I was anxious to give it a try.
Last July, I had the pleasure of going to their studio in Dallas. Of course their showroom was gorgeous, but I loved getting to see all of the different types of linens styled on each bed. Learning about their fabrics was fascinating and I had no idea how much work went into each piece. Most of their fabric is sourced from Portugal and Italy and then hand-sewn in their Dallas workshop.
They are known for their "white bed" and love to layer a neutral bed like you would layer a neutral outfit: lots of different textures make a statement. It was just the inspiration I needed to start creating our new bed.
While Peacock Alley is the leading line for luxe bedding, you can also shop the look for less at their Dallas or Plano Outlet. You can find the locations here, or hop on their website to shop their classic ...
Cozy Knits
Happy Wednesday, friend! We are halfway through the week and I thought I would share one of my favorite purchases as of late. In my opinion, you can never have too many knits. This Army Green Cardigan (under $30 and comes in pink) and Knit Infinity Scarf have been two items that I seem to wear all of the time. If you're new to my site, you will quickly find that I love neutrals, basics and clothing that I can realistically wear on the weekends, to the office, or for date night.
On a different note, we are shooting our home tour on Friday! I am so excited that we are finished and can't wait to share with you our home. This has been a long project that both Austin and I have spent many hours on. Between building furniture, hanging gallery walls and painting, it's been a process. Are there any specific rooms or areas you want to see? Can't wait to share!
Have a great week and thanks so much for stoping by! xx
Grid Scarf
Is it just me or did the weekend fly by? We spent Saturday running errands and yesterday taking engagement pictures for Austin's sister & new fiancé. We had hopes to hang yet another gallery wall, but it looks like that will have to wait until tomorrow! Our home tour is going to be shot this week and I am so excited to have things almost done. It will be such a nice feeling!
I wanted to share this cozy look from a few weeks ago. This grid Scarf (now sold out, but here's a very similar scarf) has been a favorite of mine this season and it's a little embarrassing how often I wear it. But isn't that a sign of a great purchase?

The Sleeveless Vest
This week has been a busy one and I am so thankful tomorrow is Friday! I wanted to share with you guys this look from a couple weeks ago. This sleeveless vest has been one of my favorite purchases as of late (and it's under $25). You guys know I love neutrals and when I saw this vest, I knew it was something that would get a lot of wear in my closet.
I wore this outfit to meet some friends for a late lunch at Ida Claire. It combines some of my favorite pieces; distressed denim, a silk blouse, and my favorite satchel. This sleeveless vest was the perfect addition. I also plan to wear it with black denim, black boots, and my cream sweater.

Easy Makeup Routine
While I love to wear makeup just as much as the next girl, I like to keep a rather simple everyday routine. I've had a few requests for a little review and tutorial so I thought I'd share some of my recent purchases with you all! Some of you may have seen me use these products on my snapchat yesterday (theteacherdiva) and if you look fast, you may still catch my video from yesterday's tutorial using these products.
I wanted to share some of old and new favorites starting with this Eyebright Lotion and Moisturiser by Liz Earle. I got these products in the Botanicals Skin Saviours Set from Birchbox and have loved using the skincare line. The Eyebright Soothing Eye Lotion is perfect for refreshing tired and puffy eyes. I apply it every morning with a cotton ball, then follow with the Skin Repair Moisturiser. They smell nice too!
Next up, is this Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation. My sweet in-laws gave this to me for Christmas and I don't think they've ever seen someone so excited about makeup before. As someone who loves trying new products, this has been on the top of my list. So ...
Black Leggings & Khaki Coat
There are a number of items in my closet that I call "essentials", but this time of year, nothing quite compares to a good pair of leggings. You know, the pair that you can wear "as pants" and still feel confident everything is in tact. I wear leggings almost daily during the winter and have found these black leggings to be my favorite.
It took me a while to splurge on a pair like these, but they have been worth the investment as I wear them all the time. I love to wear these with oversized sweaters, capes, or even worn under a dress.
Here is a look that I shot last week wearing these leggings and pointed toe boots (aka the key to longer legs, ha) and a classic khaki coat. The options are endless!
On a completely different note, my zoodle arrived in the mail yesterday and I am very excited to use it. Have any of you used a zoodle or vegetable spiralizer before? I have been pinning a few recipes that I ...
Winter Neutrals
Hi everyone! I hope your New Year is off to a great start. I know the Monday Blues are in full force after being off for the Holidays. Hopefully, today is full of productivity and getting after those goals.
I wanted to share with you all this casual look from last week. You know I love neutrals, so I couldn't wait to wear this cream and tan combo. This sweater coat (I also have it in grey) was the perfect addition to my Topshop turtleneck. It's soft, cozy and I am crazy about the color. In my opinion, this camel color goes with just about anything.
Together, this combination was quite warm. I've worn my grey version of this sweater coat, so many times. It's perfect for traveling and doesn't wrinkle easily. A major win in my book!
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day xx

Goodbye, 2015
As I look back at 2015, I am filled with gratitude and the upmost appreciation to you all. It was a great year, filled with new beginnings, challenges and the happiest memories.
Change has always intimated me, but the thought of starting fresh with a new year is exhilarating. It's the time for a clean slate, a chance to start over and set new goals.
Each year, I set personal, spiritual and work goals. I know goals can seem silly, but as someone who likes to make goals on a regular basis, it only seemed fitting to make a few for the new year. One of my goals is to keep up with a weekly Bible Study. When I was teaching, my co-workers and I met once a week for a prayer group and a girl on my team and I would read the She Reads Truth Bible Studies. We were pretty consistent and the accountability was much appreciated on my end. I truly miss that. My goal is to be more intentional with my spiritual quiet time and participate in a weekly Bible Study, whether it's with another group or just by myself.
Another goal I have is to travel more. I know, I know, wouldn't we all love to travel more? But really. Austin and I have been saving our miles and we are anxious to use them this year. I am hoping for Europe, but we will see! As far as work goes, I feel like those goals never end. As you know, I started this blog
Brown Wool Coat
When it comes to winter one thing is for sure, I love my layers and cozy essentials. For months I remember searching for the perfect belted coat. Perhaps it was after watching a few episodes of Scandal, but I was inspired to find a belted wool coat. This time last year, I got this camel coat (size up) and have worn it so many times that I decided I wanted a darker brown version. Something that would still be just as versatile, but in a rich brown color.
I recently discovered this wool coat from Chicwish which has the perfect relaxed fit I was wanting. Pair it with distressed denim, or your favorite dress and you're good to go!

Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale
Today I wanted to share with you a big sale going on at Nordstrom. I know, sales can be overwhelming, but I'm here to help you find the best of the best without the hassle of digging through the racks and searching the entire site for that perfect jacket or sweater.
Some of my personal favorites include this Fringed Sweater Vest (as seen in the image above, full post here) and button down tunic. My mom picked up this bag yesterday in grey and I am in love. You can tuck in the straps to make it a clutch, or a shoulder bag by adjusting the length. I also have my eye on these strappy flats. I had a similar pair from Forever 21 and wore them so much they broke. I'm ready to get a nicer pair and have heard great things about these!
Happy shopping and thanks for reading! xx ...
