In an effort to be ahead of the game this year with my holiday shopping, I’ve started early with some budget friendly buys. You may have seen my ideas for her (here and here) but I know it's nice to have some options at all price points!
I absolutely love this PJ Short Set. I have them in the blue (true to size) and they are so incredibly soft. I definitely wouldn't mind getting another pair! I also love this little sleep mask. And at $14, it's great to give your best girlfriends or secret santa. I just purchased these grey over the knee boots (available in black here). I have been on the hunt for an affordable pair, and these were perfect. Thanks for stopping by and stayed tuned for more gifting ideas coming next Friday!

The Essentials Collection With Zady
For every season there are a handful of key wardrobe pieces that can make your world go around. Some are basic finds while others can make more of a statement. Finding your signature pieces can be somewhat of trial and error but to help guide you, Zady has just launched their Essentials Collection.
You may remember Zady from my post here, and if not, I am excited to introduce you to this amazing brand. Zady is an online boutique featuring unique products hand made by artisans from all over the world. Their primary focus is to be able to provide quality and sustainable products that will last. You know, the button down shirt you can wear year round, or a timeless wool coat for the winter. As for me, this classic sweater is perfect for this time of year. Whether its layered or worn alone, it's a great investment piece that will last year after year.
Being someone who loves wardrobe staples, The Essentials Collection is my favorite yet. I've worn their .02 T-Shirt for months now, and am impressed with how it holds up wash after wash. I recently got their
The Striped Cape
It's no secret I love a good cape. They are perfect for this time of year, and not to mention so soft and comfortable. Whether it’s a cozy addition to season staples or something you're still considering, you’ll be surprised at how versatile the cape can be in your daily mix.
You've seen me where variations of capes throughout the season, but I think I have found my favorite. This Burgundy Striped Cape from ILY Couture (now 20% off with code everything) is perfect for Fall. I've worn this cape on many occasions, and really you can't go wrong. Throw on skinny jeans, your favorite sweater, boots and you're good to go. If you're looking for neutrals, I also love this Camel Striped Cape or Diamond Cape.
PS: Have you entered my holiday giveaway? Winners will be announced Friday. Best of luck!
Classic Skinny Jeans
I'll be the first to admit that I am extremely picky when it comes to denim (and I'm willing to bet some you would agree). Not only do I pay close attention to the fit, but I now look for quality over quantity. I've never been one who needed a plethora of jeans. I tend to find 3 or 4 that I really love and rotate those week after week.
Lately, I have been looking at brands like AG, Current Elliot and J Brand. I've worn AG for years, but recently started trying newer brands like Current Elliot and J Brand. Nordstrom has a wide assortment of all brands and styles, but I found this classic skinny fit by AG to be the perfect match. The soft blue wash is a great color for just about anything. I also love how they are tight around the ankles (perfect for booties) and keep a snug fit throughout the day.
I also love this pair of distressed skinny jeans. The gently worn in wash and subtle tears really make for the perfect pair. I wear them all the time and they are one of the best fitting jeans I own. While the price tag is a little high, they really make up for it with the quality ...

Over the Knee
Purchasing these over the knee boots last fall has been a great investment. I was honestly a little hesitant considering they are far more dramatic than my normal everyday wear, but I have been very surprised about the ease of an OTK boot.
Pulling off a tall boot doesn't have to be hard. The key is to stick with simple styles that help establish a long, lean silhouette. Personally, I like to pair them with jeans or leggings and an oversized sweater or poncho. For the appearance of longer legs, wear them with black pants or leggings. You may laugh, but it's crazy how this really works (especially when wearing these).
I also love these flat boots (similar under $200) as they are more practical for day to day wear. Not to mention they are really comfortable! Either way, you can't go wrong.
Have you tried over the knee boots? What are your favorite styles?

The Packing List | A Weekend Cruise
I love a weekend getaway. Don't we all? In just a few short days, Ashley and I, along with a few other girlfriends will be heading to New York to set sail on the Royal Caribbean’s Anthem of the Seas. Though this is a quick trip, I am looking forward to sailing around the New York Harbor and experiencing Royal Caribbean's newest smartship.
New York in the Fall is my absolute favorite. The air is crisp and the trees are a beautiful orange. I can't wait to see the gorgeous city as we cruise the harbor.
The Anthem of the Seas is the first of it's kind and I am looking forward to trying out some of the exciting amenities. From a skydiving simulator to bumper cars, this ship has everything. Personally, I am looking forward to trying a few of the many restaurants (18 to be exact) and hopefully checking out the

Laser-Cut Details
After a fun weekend in Denver, I am back home and trying to get in the swing of things. Have I mentioned how much I love Denver? Some of my best friends and I went to celebrate my friends 30th birthday! It is a beautiful place and I could not get over the gorgeous scenery.
I wanted to share a look that I wore last week in Dallas. While this all black look may not be for everyone, I can't help but love a monochromatic look. My closet is highly dominated by neutrals and while try to have a good balance, I always reach for those classic colors. This all black look is one of my favorites. I love the laser-cut details on this dress. It's feminine but also gives off an edgy vibe. While all black can sometimes seem boring, I find that if you mix in textures and different lengths, it can still feel sophisticated and complete the look.

Cozy Layers
Happy Friday! Today, I am heading off to Denver for my friends 30th birthday. I've never been to Denver before, but from what I hear, it's a pretty neat place. I am going with a few of the girls I used to teach with, so I am looking forward to catching up and spending some quality time with them.
While this is a short trip, I want to pack things that are versatile and functional. After all, it is much colder in Denver than Dallas (which I am so excited about) and sweaters are a must. I immediately thought back to this cozy, layered look from last week.
This cowl neck poncho might be my favorite sweater I own. Not only is this one the perfect neutral color, but the oversized shape is exactly what I’m looking for. This is one of those sweaters that can be worn with stripes, neutrals or brights, so it's pretty versatile. I found it at Modcloth after searching for a plaid blanket scarf (they have so many under $25) and knew it was something I would wear all season long. Oh, and if you're looking for a new coat, this one is also noteworthy!
Layers like this are a go-to for me and will definitely get me through a chilly Colorado ...
