With the 4th of July just around the corner, I have been on the hunt for what I will be wearing for an evening outside with friends and celebrating the good ole US of A. I love this Blue Blouse and if you have seen my recent instagrams, you know I have been wearing it on repeat! I am thinking this would be a great top with my white denim shorts and sandals too.
I always like to make something (easy) but festive for the 4th! I have this recipe pinned and I am also loving these ice cubes for a fun look to your drink. I've made these fruit kabobs and they are always a hit. I may stick to that and make those ice cubes. Like I said, I try to keep it easy- ha! What do you have planned for this weekend?
Summer Layers
Hi everyone! Today I am sharing a super casual look from this past weekend. I am a big fan of layers and I love that I found a thin enough shrug to wear during the summer. This Neutral Cardigan (also worn here) is a great piece to have as a way to change up any look or pair with a simple tank top like I did here (I have that tank top in 3 colors, it's my favorite). I threw on my nude pumps to dress it up a little and it was perfect for a date night to the movies.
On a totally different note, I am getting really excited about a few projects I have been working on. Both work and personal. We moved into our first house last July, and (i'm embarrassed to admit) we are finally getting around to decorating and buying furniture. I can't wait to share with you all some of the things we are doing. It terrifies me to decorate and the thought of painting makes me cringe. I guess I just feel like it's so permanent. Which is silly. Anyways, be on the lookout for some DIY projects on my snapchat (username: theteacherdiva) and some interior posts coming this summer. Please feel free to share any home decor blogs, stores, or tips below!
Thanks so much for reading! xx

With wedding season in full swing, there's no reason to not be prepared when it comes to (ahem)...lingerie. Whether you are the bride-to-be, bridesmaid, or a wedding guest, we all have to find the right undergarments for our dress or outfit.
This is a busy "wedding" summer for us. We are attending three weddings and I am getting to host a lingerie shower for a very dear friend. I truly get so excited about all of these wedding festivities because it brings back such great memories from my wedding 3 years ago!
As I am planning for the lingerie shower, I am realizing how many options there are for lingerie. You can go sexy, sweet, or practical. Nordstrom has the best selection of sleepwear and lingerie. I have always shopped at Nordstrom for my bras (they have the best ...
The Essential T-Shirt
Over the past year, I've really started to make smart choices when it came to purchasing clothes. When looking in my closet, I realized that my "trendy" and cheaper clothes have seen better days (you know, the top that you wash once and it starts to unravel...!!!) and my classic pieces are still the ones I gravitate towards first. It's made me more aware that trends can be fun, but if I want something to last, I need to choose quality over quantity.
Recently, I was introduced to Zady, an online boutique featuring unique products hand made by artisans from all over the world. Their primary focus is to be able to provide quality and sustainable products that will last. If you go to their site, you will find leather bags, accessories for the home, and handmade jewelry, but the first thing I saw was the .02 T- Shirt.
In my opinion, there's nothing more essential in your closet than a classic white t-shirt. As much as I like to wear a silk blouse or a flirty dress, I feel most comfortable in a soft cotton tee. I like this version because ...
Printed Shorts
While Summer in Texas can be brutally hot, I still love the look of long sleeves with shorts. Obviously, they aren't for 100 degree days, but I find that I love to wear this look for dinner or if it's overcast.
These printed shorts (on sale) are one of my favorite styles to wear for summer. I like that they are a little longer and structured. They don't wrinkle easily- which is amazing! I like that they can be dressed up with a silk blouse tucked in wearing heels, or worn a little more casually seen here.
This pink knit sweater (on sale) is one that can worn all year long. It's not sheer by any means, but the material isn't as thick making it appropriate to wear during warmer months.

Pink Aviators
I have always loved my original Ray Ban Aviators, but lately, I have had my eye on these Blush Pink Mirrored Aviators. I like that they have more of a blush-gold tone and I think they go well with just about anything.
When I saw that Nordstrom had them in the original size and the large size, I decided to give them a try. I like the fit of the original ones, but the 62 mm seems to fit me best!
For me, pink has always been a neutral. Blush tones or pastels are so easy to incorporate into black, brown or other prints. These Aviators (in Pink Flash) were the perfect accessory for my striped tank top (under $30) and white pants. I am also loving the Ray Ban Highstreet Sunlasses (in Fuschia) and the Folding Wayfarer (in Fuschia)
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by! xx
Eyelet White Dress
When I think of summer, eyelet and white are two things that come to mind regarding summer fashion. When I saw this Off The Shoulder Eyelet Dress, I knew it would be perfect for Summer date nights or brunch with the girls. I like that the fabric is cotton so you can really dress it up or down depending on the occasion.
Today I am off to have a little staycation with some of my very special teacher friends. I have worked with these girls for the last two years and some of them for the last 5 years. We are planning on going out for Mexican food, hanging by the pool (please stop raining Texas!) and doing whatever silly things come our way. I can't wait! You can see more of our staycation by following via snapchat: "theteacherdiva"

In My Bag- Rebecca Minkoff Tote
Leather tote bags have been a staple for many handbag designers for the last several years. The tote is easily one of my most used bags simply because it holds everything! I use my Louis Vuitton Never Full and Gigi New York Teddie Tote on a regular basis but I was excited to introduce this Rebecca Minkoff Unlined Leather Tote to the mix.
From lipsticks, iPhone, planner, notebook, keys, to gum wrappers-- the list of items in my handbag seem to be forever growing. This Leather Tote does the trick just fine and still leaves room for any other goodies I can manage to fit in there.
First, let's talk about the two toned leather. How gorgeous is that silvery-gold inside?
These Yosi Foldable Flats (more colors here) are a life savor...or feet savor I should say. I have about 7 pairs and I would wear them while teaching or even on the weekends if we were going to be walking a lot. They are very comfy and conveniently fold up into that little pouch. I always have a pair with me or in the car, just in case my ...
Off The Shoulder
Summer is here and off the should er tops could not be more in for the season. This mint green version is one of my favorite off the shoulder tops. The embroidered hemline makes it fun and summery, and the color is so fresh and looks great with a tan (or faux tan if you're like me).
This green color looks so pretty with denim or with your favorite white pants for a softer pastel vibe. Off the shoulder tops are definitely a must try for the Summer! See below for more of my favorite OTS picks. Happy Shopping! xx
