Do In Dallas | The Joule Hotel

Do In Dallas | The Joule Hotel

Last month, Austin and I decided to treat ourselves to a little "staycation" at The Joule Hotel in Dallas.  I just had finished Parent Teacher Conferences, and he just finished a big project at work so we decided we needed a little R&R. While I've stayed at the hotel before, it was only for a short bit. This time, we did things a little differently. We relaxed, had no schedule, and took time to enjoy all the amenities the hotel had to offer. It was so fun to be a tourist in our own city. We ate at new places, shopped in new stores and walked areas we've never seen. Every aspect of this hotel is unique: the rooms and the lobby are a just a few of my favorite parts that make up this cool hotel. Be sure to keep reading for the full scoop on this gorgeous downtown hotel, or head over to instagram to see pictures from our staycation! Our first stop, was dinner at CBD Provisions. Some of our friends frequent this restaurant all the time, so we couldn't wait to see what all the fuss was about. CBD Provisions is a modern Texas brasserie located in the heart of downtown ...

Little Red Bag

Little Red Bag

This time of year always makes me want to be a little more festive with my attire. Whether its a fair isle sweater or red accessories, I can't say no! This little crossbody from Onna Ehrlich was the perfect solution for adding a little glam to my holiday looks. I loved pairing this bag with my Chicwish Faux Fur Vest (less than $50) and soft neutrals for a day of Christmas tree shopping and picking up a few last minute decorations. Austin and I are getting to decorate our house for the first time this year and we are pretty excited about it. Pictures to come! Have a great Monday! xx      Shop The Post: Onna Ehrlich Mini Chole Bag in Red c/o | Chic Wish Faux Fur Vest- under $50! (wearing a small) c/o | Sweater (fit: size up for an oversized look...I am wearing my normal size here) | Paige Skinny Jeans (true to size) | Louise et Cie Over the Knee Boots (true to size) | Michael Kors

Gift Guide | $25 & Under

Gift Guide | $25 & Under

- click the images above to shop the products - With holiday parties and gift exchanges just around the corner, I wanted to share with you guys the perfect gift guide for budgets $25 & under! My teacher friends and I just drew names for "secret santa" and I couldn't help but start researching gifts around 25 bucks. Some of these are just too cute to pass up! Like these little bear slippers? Ah, I might just have to grab a pair for myself since they are less than $10. I also love any of the Kate Spade desk accessories. Even though I am constantly around "school supplies", I never grow tired of seeing adorable bow paperclips. Blanket scarves are a huge trend this season and I found the best all under $25. What girl wouldn't want a festive scarf? If your local to Dallas,  a gift card to Bellacures might just be the perfect gift! I've been there a few times and it seriously is the best gel mani, I have ever received! For a limited time, they are offering a free moisture rich add on for any nail service of $20 or more. Use code MR10 at your next visit. This is good through December 31, ...

Leather Jacket

Leather Jacket

Ever since I scooped up this faux leather jacket (on sale!), I have been anxiously awaiting the colder temps. Lucky me, this week has been a cold one. It's bizarre how Sunday was 80 degrees and Monday it was in the low 40's. Texas is crazy! However, I wasn't too upset as it was just an excuse to throw on this moto jacket and favorite boots. This jacket is so soft that I was actually shocked to read it was vegan leather. I mean, even the texture looks like the real deal and for only 60 bucks, I couldn't pass it up. It was perfect for a casual night out and will definitely be on hand as the temperatures keep dropping. Today is the last day to enter Turquoise Tassel Earring Giveaway! To Enter:  1. You must follow Goldenstrand Jewelry on Instagram and Facebook 2. You must follow The Teacher Diva on Facebook and Twitter Bonus Entry if you ...

Beauty Talk | Winter Skin Care

Beauty Talk | Winter Skin Care

Every year, I work harder to take better care of my skin. I try to do all the "necessary" things my dermatologist recommends. I drink a lot of water (I should drink more), wash my face every night before I go to bed, and always use moisturizer. However, now that I am getting closer to my 30's, I notice my skin's texture and appearance changing. Obviously that stuff is going to happen with age, but I am wanting to do what I can to keep my skin looking hydrated and clean. Who doesn't right? Since the freezing temperatures aren't helping, I decided I needed to switch up my normal skin care routine. I usually use the Kate Somerville face wash and cream (love them) but I needed something a little more hydrating for this time of year. My skin is combination/sensitive, so I knew this wasn't going to be as easy. My face seems to break out with anything these days! After doing tons of research and reading many positive reviews, I decided to give the Chanel Mousse Douceur face wash and the Hydra Beauty Creme  a try. These weren't the most "budget friendly" so I was pretty skeptical at first, but after using them for a week I could already tell a difference in my skins appearance and texture.   I love the consistency of the Mousse ...

Holiday Plaid

Holiday Plaid

Everyone needs that holiday top they can wear from season to season. For me, I can always go to my trustworthy plaid button down. I love the classic red and tan combo, but I couldn't pass up this green version. It just seemed to festive (without being overdone) to pass up. I love that I can wear it tucked in the front or untucked for a "tunic" look. This top will be worn many times throughout winter and I can't wait to pair it with this faux fur vest. How do you style plaid?      Shop the post: Wayf Long Sleeve Plaid Tunic (true to size, wearing a small) | Louise et Cie Brown Over the Knee Boots (my favorite pair, true to size) | J Brand 620 Super Skinny Jeans c/o | Gigi New York Teddie Tote in Stone c/o | Brandy Pham Ella Floating Ring c/o | Karen Walker Super Duper Sunglasses  | Click to Shop | ...

Black Friday is here and you know what that means, sales! Not just any sale, the sale of all sales! And while stores love to  play up the "early bird special", I prefer the "shop online in my pj's" way.  I have learned (the hard way) that it's never worth fighting the crowds. It hilarious that I actually thought it could be an enjoyable experience! You shouldn't have to go through that just to save a few bucks. So grab your coffee, sit back, and stay awhile. Sweater Weather

Sweater Weather

Happy Thanksgiving Eve! Today we are on our way to Austin's Grandmothers house in New Boston, Texas to spend some time with my in-laws for Thanksgiving. We go every year and it's something that we all look forward to! It's just nice to have a couple of days away from the city and relax. We plan to go to the Robertson Farm, play cards, and enjoy some of Grandmothers delicious cooking. Yum! When I started to pack for our trip, I knew I wanted to keep it simple. I am on a "big sweater" kick right now and this MICHAEL Michael Kors Turtleneck Poncho (on sale!) is just what I have been looking for.  It's the perfect length to throw over a pair of leggings or skinny jeans for an easy and casual look. I tossed that in my bag but opted for these black over the knee boots (also on sale) instead. I figured it might be nice to wear flats on such a busy day. I have been so impressed with the MICHAEL Michael Kors collection at Nordstrom that I couldn't turn down this color block sweater too. I love the fit and the quality is top notch. My mom has already commented on how she plans to steal this from me. Ha, we will see about that! Have a great Thanksgiving! xx      Shop the Post MICHAEL Michael Kors Turtleneck Poncho Sweater (on ...
