Bedtime Dry Shampoo Hack

Bedtime Dry Shampoo Hack

If you want to prolong your blowout, this is the trick to keep your hair looking fresh. Because of this hack, I am down to washing my hair once (maybe twice) a week. Which is honestly a pretty big accomplishment for me. I have thick hair and ever since having George, it's been more oily at the roots. Weird, right? I have to use a dry shampoo that gives me a powdery white finish and a little grit. Trust me, the white powder will go away if you follow these steps. ...

The Ultimate Dry Shampoo Guide

The Ultimate Dry Shampoo Guide

If you've followed my blog for a while, you know how much I love dry shampoo. It may just be my favorite product in my beauty bag.  I rely on it (almost) every day and I love how easy and convenient it is. I often get questions asking about my hair care routine & curling iron (read more about that here), but the most common question is about my dry shampoo. ...

Beauty Talk | Dry Shampoo

Beauty Talk | Dry Shampoo

Have you ever tried dry shampoo? Let me let you in on a little secret...dry shampoo is the best and something I use on a weekly (sometimes daily) basis. Dry shampoo is designed to be used as a "day after" spray. It dilutes excess oil in your roots and often provides a refreshing smell to give you hair the look and smell of it being freshly washed. I don't know about you, but I hate drying my hair, curling it, and doing that whole process everyday.  Using a dry shampoo a couple days out of the week helps me skip those steps and still get the same results. Not to mention, it cuts down the "getting ready process" and gives you a few extra zzz's. Now, I've tried many different dry shampoos and I can honestly say that I don't have just one that's my favorite. They either work or they don't. It's that simple. Dry Clean Only by Sebastian is one that I really like thanks to the girls at Society Salon. It's the first one that I've tried that is an actual hairspray and dry shampoo. I was a little nervous about trying it because I don't ever use hair spray on my roots. I typically like to run my fingers through my hair so the thought of spraying the top with hairspray kind of turned me off. I was wrong! This stuff is great! It doesn't have a powdery color or tint to it, but it actually makes me hair appear less ...

Dry Bar | Dry Shampoo Review

Dry Bar | Dry Shampoo Review

I must admit, I don't wash my hair everyday. I actually can stretch it to every 3 days if I am lucky. No judging please. And yes, I do shower.  With that being said, I am a dry shampoo junkie. I have about 6 different bottles sitting in my cabinet right now. I know that is a lot but I get nervous taking things back to the store. My biggest issue with dry shampoo is that 90% of them make my hair look white or gray. No thanks!  Smell is also a factor.  When I heard about Drybar's new product line, I knew I give it a try. I'm obsessed with the Drybar anyways so it wasn't hard to convince me. The adorable packaging doesn't hurt either. But seriously, all sales gimmicks aside, this stuff is amazing. Not only does it NOT turn my hair gray (brunetts you know what I am talking about), but it actually has a nice smell to it. It even adds a little lift to my hair without making it clump or feel icky. For $20 you can't beat that.  Sephora is starting to sell Drybar products so if you don't have a Drybar near you,  dont fret, you can always pop in to Sephora or order online. I am anxious to try their 3 Day Bender...a little nervous that ...

This $8 Shampoo and Conditioner Made My Hair So Soft — And it’s Sulfate-Free.

This $8 Shampoo and Conditioner Made My Hair So Soft — And it’s Sulfate-Free.

As someone who has colored and heat-styled her hair regularly for the past 15 years, my hair care routine is something that I take into careful consideration. And while it might be enticing to shop at luxury beauty stores to find the latest and greatest, hey I can be guilty of it too, regularly incorporating these types of products into our routine isn't the healthiest strategy long-term for our bank accounts. And higher price tags don't always mean it's a better product. About a month ago, I started to try my luck at this $8 shampoo and conditioner by Hair Food. What originally caught my eye (besides the price tag) was that it is made from pure ingredients and free of parabens, mineral oils, silicones, sulfates and dyes. The proof of the power of these ingredients lies in the results. And my hair is all the better for it. ...

How to Fight Dry Skin During the Winter

How to Fight Dry Skin During the Winter

This post is created in paid-for partnership with QVC. Just like our wardrobe shifts for each season, so should our skincare. Though I don't make drastic changes, I do like to introduce a new product to my daily routine with a bit more hydration for winter dry skin. One that has been a recent find, is the  Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Cloud Cream. Being a happy customer of Peter Thomas Roth and QVC (the Max Correction Pads are my go-to and I'm recently hooked on these eye patches), it was no surprise how much I like this lightweight cream. ...

Why I’m Obsessed With Purple Shampoo

Why I’m Obsessed With Purple Shampoo

Being someone who colors her hair, I have a few tricks up my sleeve when it comes to color maintenance. After all, coloring services can get expensive and if you're like me, you want to do whatever you can to keep haircolor from fading. My hair is naturally light brown, with caramel undertones. I like to keep it lighter by adding cool blonde highlights and balayage. While I don't mind a little warmth, I do not want my hair to look brassy. The number one product that helps my hair from getting too brassy, is purple shampoo. ...
