A Casual Weekend Downtown

A Casual Weekend Downtown

Friday is almost here! During the weekends, Austin and I often like to head downtown to Dallas and discover new restaurants, stores and coffee shops. It's one of our favorite things to do together and gives us a nice change of scenery from the work week. Today, we are teaming up with Nordstrom to give you a look at our downtown adventures to our favorite spots in Dallas and highlighting our favorite casual pieces. ...

A Weekend at The Omni Homestead Resort

A Weekend at The Omni Homestead Resort

Last month, Austin and I got to travel to Hot Springs, Virginia to stay at the beautiful Omni Homestead Resort for their 250th Anniversary. You guys, this property is not only beautiful but it's an amazing experience (and America's oldest resort)! Since posting on instagram and snapchat, several of you have emailed us with questions regarding this resort. I wanted to share a little recap with you and some tips we found helpful for planning our stay at The Omni Homestead Resort.  ...

A Weekend in Fredericksburg

A Weekend in Fredericksburg

A few weekends ago, Austin and I celebrated his birthday by taking a little road trip down to Fredericksburg, TX. Though we've never been, it cam highly recommended by family and friends to visit this adorable town. Being only 4 hours from Dallas, this was the ideal distance for a quick trip. I wanted to share with your some of our favorite places to eat, stay and see while in Fredericksburg. WHERE TO STAY As this was our first trip to Fredericksburg, we really didn't know what to expect. One of our friends highly recommended staying at The Hoffman Haus, and said we would love staying at this cozy bed and breakfast. We were so excited to check it out! When booking your stay, keep in mind each cottage is different. Some are bigger for groups and others are small and quaint. Austin really wanted the feel of a cabin, so we decided to stay in Cottage #5 (which we loved and looked just like a log cabin). The best part, is each morning they deliver breakfast promtly to your porch at 9:00am. I figured it would be muffins and juice, but we were pleasantly surprised to see that it was a hearty spread. It was so yummy! The location was the perfect distance to Main St. and we loved the beautiful property. DINING During our trip, we went to several great places. One of our favorite places to eat for dinner included

The Packing List | A Weekend Cruise

I love a weekend getaway. Don't we all? In just a few short days, Ashley and I, along with a few other girlfriends will be heading to New York to set sail on the Royal Caribbean’s Anthem of the Seas. Though this is a quick trip, I am looking forward to sailing around the New York Harbor and experiencing Royal Caribbean's newest smartship. New York in the Fall is my absolute favorite. The air is crisp and the trees are a beautiful orange. I can't wait to see the gorgeous city as we cruise the harbor. The Anthem of the Seas is the first of it's kind and I am looking forward to trying out some of the exciting amenities. From a skydiving simulator to bumper cars, this ship has everything. Personally, I am looking forward to trying a few of the many restaurants (18 to be exact) and hopefully checking out the

A Weekend in Sonoma

A Weekend in Sonoma

pink dress (tts) | cross body satchel (size mini) | ring set | monogram necklace | watch A few weeks ago, Austin, myself and 8 of our close friends traveled to Napa and Sonoma for a beautiful, destination wedding. This was our second trip to wine country, but it was just as wonderful as the first. Many of you asked about our favorite vineyards, places to eat and lodging recommendations, so I wanted to be sure I did a complete review of our stay and include some of our favorite stops. As always, feel free to reach out with questions! Where to Eat in Sonoma & Napa One of my favorite things about traveling, is trying new food and visiting neat restaurants. Breakfast is number one in my book and between Sonoma and Napa, we had some delicious meals. One of my favorite places for brunching with a view was The Fremont Diner. The weather is near perfect in Northern California so this makes for the perfect outside dining experience. We sat on a picnic table that overlooked beautiful hills and vineyards. I had the

A Weekend in Seattle

A Weekend in Seattle

pink coat | gold bracelet | ring Last weekend, Austin and I had the most wonderful time in Seattle. It was my husbands first trip and my second, but it was equally just as exciting for both of us. While we aren’t gurus of this city, I did want to share with you some neat places for dining, sight seeing, and lodging while your downtown.  It was really important to us to find a hotel that was located near the water and Pike Place Market. I did some research and found The Palladian Hotel had everything we wanted! Everything from the marble countertops to the food at Shaker + Spear was on point. We loved staying at this boutique hotel!  sunglasses (on sale) | link bracelet | watch | perfume | rings | lipgloss ('angelika') | back up battery Day 1: After ...

Weekend Getaway

Weekend Getaway

When it comes to traveling, weekend getaways are my favorite. They are easy to plan and usually just the right amount of time to be away. When my husband and I got married we made a goal to travel more and plan little weekend trips. I would say that we have definitely kept that a priority! Between fun trips to Boston and NYC, a few road trips to Austin,TX, and family vacations, I would say that he and I have done our fair share of traveling this year. I've learned a lot from these trips. One thing I always remember is to dress comfortably. It's common sense, but sometimes we sacrifice comfort for style when really the two can go hand in hand. I always wear light layers when traveling. It makes temperature changes bearable and not to mention this cardigan and silk cami are so so soft! I have to wear comfortable shoes. Whether Im traveling by plane or car, my feet need to be comfy. These

Weekend Wear

Weekend Wear

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend! I don't know about you but I sure did enjoy an extra day to sleep in and do some things on our new house. We finally got around to getting our night stands (added a little DIY touch...more coming soon), hung some curtains and bought some new items for decorating. Nothing big, just things we needed to get done! Over the weekend I wore this feather print tunic, new boyfriend jeans and (the best) leather tote for a long brunch followed by errands.  Side note: I was so scared to try boyfriend jeans (especially because I ordered these online-sized down!) but once I got past the fact that yes, they are more "relaxed", I quickly grew to love them.  A fun tunic paired with good denim is my kind of weekend wear.    Wearing: Chantilly Dallas Feather Tunic c/o | J Crew

Weekend Casual

Weekend Casual

If you ask me, the best look for a weekend outside is something casual and comfortable. With the weather being so nice, we were excited to spend most of our time outdoors. I wanted to throw something on that was easy to wear and still look "put together". It was an easy choice to wear my favorite white button down and denim rolled up shorts. It's one of my favorite combos and something that is a classic look for summer. Wearing: Classic White Button Down (Equipment Brett Blouse version) | Paige
