Day 2 NYFW

fashion week street style

Happy Leap Year! I hope you guys are enjoying your extra 24 hrs. I wanted to share this look from Day 2 at NYFW and some more information about our stay in New York. I’ve recieved quite a few questions about places to eat and stay while in New York, so I wanted to be sure and address those as well.

This year, we stayed at the Conrad New York. I absolutely loved this hotel and it’s beautiful view of the Hudson River. If you saw my snapchats (username: the teacher diva), you know what I’m talking about! The rooms were spacious and the service was top notch.

Many of you asked, what does a blogger do during Fashion Week? Well, there are many different things to do as a blogger/press, but I would say the main goal is to give coverage for the brand and share the new collection with your audience. Whether it’s sharing a video from backstage on Snapchat or a still image captured on Instagram, it’s important to share those exciting moments for the brand. I love looking at what’s happening backstage or see a preview of what’s to come in the next season!

During our stay, we had many meetings and showroom visits in the midst of the shows and presentaions. This makes for a very busy few days, but creates an opportunity to build some amazing relationships and meet some incredible people! We decided to use Blacklane Car Service throughout our stay and I have never been so impressed with a car service. The prices were very reasonable (they actually pride themselves in providing the lowest rates), and they were reliable and on time to every appointment. It was perfect for a day of back to back meetings and shows.

One of my favorite shows had to be the Banana Republic presentation (which had me so excited for Fall 2016). I saw a lot of fun patterns with tan, navy and blush…and a ton of classic pieces. Personally, I always look forward to the Banana Republic presentation, because all of their items are so “wearable”. I can’t wait to see those items in store later this year! I also loved watching the Lela Rose Runway Show. Her dresses are always so stunning and glamourous.

A few of your were curious about my “must have” packing essentials, so I wanted share a couple that were a must for this trip. You know I am a beauty junkie and I love trying new products. I recently tried Sole Serum and wow! I’m sad I am just now finding out about this, but it was perfect for a long day on your feet or after a night in heels. It’s a serum you rub on your feet and it provides instant pain relief. It really works! I also could not get by without my Dry Shampoo. I’ve talked about this before, and it’s still one of my top favorites. I love the smell and the way it makes my hair feel. I also tried these Eye Gels by Honest Hazel a few weeks ago (thanks, Mary!) and they were wonderful. I actually got Austin to try them and he loved them too! They are soothing and the perfect solution to tired eyes. I’ve even put mine on over my makeup when we were traveling and they worked just as well. They also help if you have bad headaches. I suggest giving them a try! Also, a lip stain is a must. You don’t want sticky lips (especially when it’s crazy windy like it was during NYFW) and you don’t have time to constantly reapply. My two favorites are #17 Encre Rose and Pinky Nude.

Thanks so much for reading and if you have any more questions about my trip, please comment or email me at theteacherdiva@gmail.com! xx

OUTFIT DETAILS: Shein Pink Coat (Fit: runs small, size up….I am in a Medium. Quality is much better than I anticipated. Remember, it’s a coat that’s under $50 so you aren’t getting 100% wool, but I was still impressed with the fit and style. It’s fully lined too!) I also like this Pink Coat too! | Chanel Classic Quilted Flap (similar Quilted Flap Purse under $300) | Club Monaco Scarf (on major sale, now under $30!) | Gentle Monster Sunglasses | ASOS Faux Leather Leggings (Fit: True To Size) | Ash Jasmine Booties | Lipstick: Pinky Nude
