How To Style Floating Shelves

Happy Friday everyone! I am excited to share a little home update with you, specifically in my office. Since transitioning jobs, I now work full time from my house. Being in the fashion industry, my office is also my closet. So it only makes sense for me to have a clothing rack and shelves for the products I will be styling and shooting for upcoming content. It helps for styling purposes and makes it easier to plan my editorial calendar.

We recently installed these Floating Shelves from Minted. I have been searching for something to put above my clothing rack and these shelves were perfect. I love the way they look in my office and they were just the right size for holding my small purses, knickknacks and art.

When your styling floating shelves, it’s important to remember these tips:

  1. Pick a color theme. You can probably tell I love neutrals and you’re right. I have pops of color throughout our house, but for my office I wanted clean and neutral colors.
  2. Mix shapes and sizes. You don’t want everything to be the same height. It’s important to mix different heights to make the shelves interesting and balanced.
  3. Don’t limit what you display. If purses or shoes aren’t your thing. Try incorporating leaning frames with your favorite art. I love this floral print and body print from Minted. That floral print is even better in person! I also like the idea of adding a few decorative pieces like this golden pig or various knickknacks around your house.

I am so happy with the way these turned out. I am considering ordering a few more and putting some in our bedroom or living room. I would love to hear about any home projects you are working on! Have a great weekend! xx Ashley

I love the look of your floating shelves. I have so much dead space above where my clothes are hung and you’ve just given me an idea of what to do with it!

I love your blog. I had purchase the Gucci bag because of you! As you work on this, I am curious if all the accessories that you show on your blog are bought from you? Bags, shoes, cloth, etc.

      Hi Priscila,

Thank you for your comment and kind words! I hope you like your bag as much as I do 🙂

Generally, most of the items I feature are purchased by me. However, I do receive several gifted items. All of those do not end up on the blog simply because I want to keep things 100% authentic and feature only items I purchase or would purchase myself. If I do feature a gifted item on my site, you will see “c/o” or “Courtesy of” next to the product link. I hope that answered your question!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day! xx Ashley

Thanks correspondientes your reply and yes I use it all the time! The salir told me
Not yo as they have a lot of complains usó gas them on jeans and they stain. I think about it and I actually don’t use a lot of dark jeans so is a excellent neutral color that goes with any kind of outfit and style.
