A Healthy Start to Your Day: The Cacao Banana Smoothie

My mornings tend to go a bit like this: 6:30 AM alarm goes off, *press snooze twice* and hopefully up by 7 AM. Once I’m up, I’ll start the coffee maker, skim emails + social media, mentally prepare for any upcoming meetings or projects that day, then wash my face and start getting ready for the day. Before I head out the door, I usually make a smoothie or grab a protein bar if running a bit behind.

A few months ago I discovered Blender Bombs for my smoothies. Not only do they eliminate time + prep, but they are packed full of healthy ingredients that are actually good for you and can help you reach your nutritional goals. Whether that’s weight loss or trying to eliminate cravings, the BBs have enough nutrition to correct your nutritional deficiencies, which is one main reason behind those cravings.

Since using them, I only need 4 or 5 ingredients in my smoothies. No more measuring out spices, nuts or seeds — it’s all in the BBs. My current favorite is the Cacao + Peanut Butter Blender Bombs and I’ve been using them in my Cacao Banana Smoothie lately. It’s so yummy!

There are so many things we can do to make healthy choices. But for me, if I get the day started right, I find it’s much easier to make better choices throughout the day. And don’t get me wrong, I don’t have it all figured out and enjoy dessert and popcorn just as much as the next girl. But I do believe it’s all about moderation. What keeps you on track for making healthy choices?

PS: If you are a regular smoothie maker, I’m talking about my blender below and need some advice!

xx Ashley

Hi Gina! You can actually leave them in your pantry or with you on the go !If the bag has been opened for more than two weeks then it is recommended that the bag be kept in the fridge. They are great for travel. Xo

Yes; the vitamix blends everything much better than the bullet! I think it is worth the splurge.

[…] This strawberry banana smoothie is made from four simple ingredients – strawberries, banana, milk and a Blender Bomb. If you don’t have BBs on hand, I listed out some alternative ingredients you can add. However, I love the convenience of BBs and really do think they add incredible flavor to your smoothie. What is a Blender Bomb? See my review here. […]
