The Ultimate Guide to High-Rise, Flattering Denim

Being a new mom, I like my jeans to hold me in just a bit. Unfortunately, low-rise isn’t an option right now and let’s be real – high waist denim is much more forgiving! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is the ideal time to stock up on designer denim. And if you’re like me, you love a good pair of jeans in your wardrobe.

Below, I’ve rounded up my top picks for high-rise, flattering denim. I tried a lot of these on in-store (which isn’t so fun when you are 7 weeks postpartum but here we are!) and included details on sizing and fit for those that I tried.

For more of my outfit inspiration, be sure to check out my NSale shopping haul here and here. xx Ashley

NORDSTROM ANNIVERSARY SALE DENIM

TOPSHOP HIGH WAIST SPLIT HEM STRAIGHT LEG JEAN – I love a good high waist jean, they make me feel confident and I especially love how they are a relaxed fit and not a skinny jean for days that I want to feel more comfortable! I would pair these jeans with a relaxed fit tee like this one and a pair of block-heeled sandals like these!

GOOD AMERICAN GOOD LEGS HIGH WAIST CASCADE HEM SKINNY JEANS – Love the hem on these! I personally would pair these jeans with a blazer and a fun pair of heels!

FRAME LE CROP HIGH WAIST MINI BOOT RAW EDGE JEANS- Frame happens to make some of my favorite pairs of jeans and this one did not disappoint! I pair these specific jeans with a satin blouse like this one, and these booties! Fit: These run TTS

GOOD AMERICAN GOOD CURVE HIGH WAIST ANKLE STRAIGHT LEG JEANS – Love the cut of these jeans, I would pair them with this cozy sweater and these sandals.

PAIGE VINTAGE HIGH WAIST STRAIGHT SLIM LEGS– Love the wash on these! I would pair them with this cashmere cardigan and casual sneakers!

RAG & BONE NINA HIGH WAIST ANKLE FLARE JEANS– Rag and Bone never disappoints when it comes to denim! This is a fun, lighter wash. I would pair these high waist jeans with these mules and this ribbed sweater! Fit: I always find R&B to run a little small. I would size up if you are in-between sizes.

HUDSON JEANS HOLLY HIGH WAIST CROP FLARE JEANS – These are a fun and flattering pair of jeans. I love the darker wash, especially for night time! I would pair these with this casual bodysuit and a heel!

SOMETHING NAVY HIGH WAIST RAW HEM SKINNY JEAN – Also seen here! I like to have a variety of denim in my closet, so I always make sure to have a darker pair like these, not to mention I love the hem on these. I would pair these skinny jeans with a casual top like this one and a pair of casual sneakers like these. Fit: TTS, love the button fly on this pair.

BLANKNYC HIGH WAIST FLARE JEANS – Love these high waist jeans especially since there is a flare at the bottom! I would wear these jeans with a pair of heels like these, and this blouse. It makes for the perfect Date Night look!

Truly nothing better than denim that sucks you in! You should look at Everlane denim. I SWEAR by it!

Wait – I’ve never tried Everlane for denim! Do they run TTS? Is there a certain style I should order?
