Everything You Need to Organize Your House

Alright, you guys, this is a post I’ve been meaning to write for a while now and I’m happy to finally launch. Whenever I share my makeup drawers, vanity, or pantry, I get some questions about what I use to organize. Truth be told, we’re not organized 24/7 (honestly who is?) but for the most part, I like to keep things tidy. For us, it’s all about getting products that make organizing easier aka having a spot for everything.

I’ve gotten most of our organizing items off of Amazon and everything is fairly affordable. I hope that by breaking everything down, you’re able to shop what works for you!

Let me know if I’m missing out on any ride-or-die organization tricks you guys love.

xx Ashley

FOR SUNGLASSES: As Austin would say, I’m addicted to sunglasses. In my defense, a lot of mine are budget-friendly (see those here) but yes, he’s right. I use this sunglass mount to keep them all organized, visible, and safe from scratches in a drawer or whatever. Game-changer and I happen to think it looks cute mounted in a closet.

FOR JEWELRY: I have less jewelry than you’d think; I’m pretty particular about what I buy, and I just wear the same things over and over. I like everything to be very easy to access since I do wear quite a bit daily, though. I have two options: this linen jewelry tray and this stackable wood holder. Both are great and more of an aesthetics preference. You can see all my everyday jewelry here by the way.

FOR BEAUTY PRODUCTS: OK so here’s my main “problem area”. I have a lot of beauty products…and it’s an area that can get messy very quickly. I won’t lie and say my vanity and drawers look nice all of the time, but these vanity organizers are very helpful. I’m constantly trying to declutter so that everything fits within, but luckily I have pretty good drawer space to have several of them. I try to organize based on size or type of product and these organizers come in several shapes and sizes. This is the $9 tray that I use next to my sink for my daily skincare products or anything I’m testing which you can see in use here.

I usually get manicures out, but I do have some nail polish at home in this multi-level nail polish organizer.

I’ve also seen people store things like skincare, makeup, etc. in a lazy susan (which I’ll get to later) if you have less drawer space and more cabinet space.

FOR THE BATHROOM: Austin and I both love these clear stackable drawers for our bathroom cabinets. We store things like razor refills (I love these), tampons, shaving products, toothpaste, or anything we buy in bulk.

FOR THE PANTRY + FRIDGE: OK so here’s where we take advantage of lazy susans (this is the best brand for acrylic organizers). We use them in our pantry and the fridge and they’re a life-saver. Especially when I’m trying to get out the door with George – we keep lots of his snacks in these.

We also use these shelf organizers in our pantry which fits most cans + spices, but not all. We then use these food packet organizers for things like tea bags, spice mixes, and small snacks.

Lastly, I use these cute woven baskets in our pantry. These are great for things like chips, crackers, pasta, baking stuff, etc. and they look nice.

FOR THE KITCHEN: I always get questions on my sink situation so here’s where you can find everything I use there. Since our sink area is in the middle of our island, and kitchen, I wanted to find a way to hide things like dish soap, etc. and this solution has been nice.

FOR LOOSE ENDS: OK I can’t recommend these waterproof pouches enough, y’all. I’ve tried other more expensive brands and honestly, these are just as great…and a lot more affordable. I keep them in George’s backpack for school filled with all his essentials. I also have a designated “go-bag” that I transfer from purse to purse where I keep diapers, a change of clothes, etc for Geroge. Love that I can just grab the clear bag and transfer it instead of cleaning out the whole purse. They are super helpful for travel and any loose ends you have around the house or in bags. They come in three sizes, and I have all three.

FOR TOYS: We store a lot of George’s toys in our living room built-ins, but I have a few of these pretty baskets around the house as well. Super easy to toss stuff in when cleaning up and for George to have access to.

[…] 4. SUNGLASS TRAY: Can you tell I love trays? They’re versatile and can serve a lot of purposes, both visually and functionally. I picked up an H&M tray for my sunglasses a while back which I really like. It’s out of stock but here’s a similar one and here as well. I also have this clear rack for overflow but I keep my current rotation of sunnies in this tray in my closet. By the way, I share a lot of other organization tips in this article. […]
