Birthdays have looked much different this past year and with Austin’s birthday (today!), I wanted to celebrate him in a way that was safe, yet allowed us to feel like we were on an actual vacation. I surprised him with a Dallas staycation over the weekend and we had the best time.
Highly recommend taking a little staycation if your city is open. It was great for our mental health and like I said, felt like a mini vacation.
We stayed at The Thompson which just opened a few weeks ago. We loved the hotel and overall vibe. The spa was closed, but we walked down the street to the Adolphus and got a massage (we prefer the Joule spa but it books out SO FAR in advance now with COVID).
For dining, we wanted to stay on property. If you can, grab a reservation at Catbird for drinks and small plates. We went at 5:00p and it wasn’t very crowded and people were spaced out. It felt very safe. They also have contact-free room service if that’s more your thing! We ate brunch at the Nine and it was truly incredible (get the sourdough pancakes).
Here’s a few snapshots from our birthday weekend! Thanks for reading xx AR

Hi what size did you take in the leggings and dress? I’m bumping too!
Congrats! Leggings and dress are both small! Prob would need a medium in the dress if I was 8/9 months pregnant. x AR
