Fall fashion is in full force around here with my boot trends post last week and now this week all about the season’s upcoming style trends. Some of the trends I’m sharing below feel more classic and timeless to me while others definitely read as more trendy. Like sheer and cutout details — I feel like out of nowhere everyone is wearing sheer dresses, anyone else notice that? I can’t promise I’ll be wearing a sheer dress anytime soon but I do think there are ways to style this trend a little more subtly, like this bodysuit. One of the more classic trends you know I’m on board with is suiting. Blazers and trousers are everywhere and I feel like it’s my time to shine, ha!
Alright, lots more to discuss so let’s get into the 2021 fall trends you need to know about!
FAUX FUR AND SHERPA
This is a trend I feel like I’ve been embracing for a while with my favorite slippers and sherpa combat boots, but I think things are being taken a step further this year with furry accessories like this bag and faux fur bucket hats. I’m not sure I’m sold on bucket hats let alone faux fur ones, but who knows, maybe I’ll give this trend a go this season!
Have you been noticing all the bold colors lately? I feel like even the people I follow who are known for wearing neutrals are even embracing color right now, specifically neon or really saturated colors. You guys know I’m a neutral girl through and through but I’m definitely willing to add some color to my closet. I’m really loving options like this sweater or the small neon detail on these sneakers. It goes to show there are lots of different ways to wear color without having to go too crazy.
SHEER AND CUTOUT DETAILS
This is a trend that I think celebrities have fully embraced as I feel like I’ve seen several sheer dresses on the red carpet in the past few weeks. For me, I like it but want more sheer detailing or small cutouts vs an entire dress or over-the-top cutout. Something like this midi dress for example or even a sheer top like this one.
Leather leggings and pants have been around for years but it seems like leather is in overdrive this year with skirts, jackets, shorts, etc. When I was putting this together I actually found this $18 pair of leather biker shorts, which I think would be so cute with a graphic tee. Kind of a cool way to wear leather that I haven’t done before or this extra chic ivory leather skirt is a good find too.
I’m all for this cozy trend! Sweaters are nothing new, but the knits trend goes beyond that with pants and shorts and knit sets. Another big part of knits trending is the sweater vest! It’s back in a big way from oversized dress options to more fitted v-neck options.
And finally, my favorite trend of the season, suiting. My wardrobe was built for this trend, honestly. As a fresh take, I’m noticing lots of wide-leg trousers, and surprise, more vests! This definitely takes me back to the 90s/00s. I’ve also noticed the blazer dress is everywhere so I might have to style one for you guys and give you my take. If in doubt though, just wear a good blazer and you’ll be right on trend!
Which trends are you most excited to try this season?
