Time for more fall fashion content and I could not be more excited. I shared my Fall Accessories Report a few weeks ago in case you missed it, which did include this gorgeous pair of tall boots, but today I’m going deep on the boots that are having a moment. There are definitely some similarities to boot trends we saw last year like lug souls and animal print, but a few new options I’m excited to share as well.
Here are the top boot trends I’ve noticed so far this year — yes or no from you?
LACE-UP / COMBAT
This trend made a huge comeback in 2019 and I still love it just as much now as I did then. It’s a great way to add a masculine touch to a more feminine outfit like when I styled them with a duster cardigan. I also love wearing lace-up boots with skinny jeans and black leggings for a more edgy-chic look. The pair I’m wearing in that duster cardigan post is still available and only $20!
Animal print boots and booties will always be in style if you ask me. I’ve loved leopard print for years, but my favorite right now might be snakeskin. Snakeskin is still neutral enough but adds some pattern and interest to any look.
LUG / PLATFORM
Lug and platform boots are probably 2021’s biggest boot trend and my personal favorite. This pair (and a lot of similar versions) are everywhere. What do you guys think? Are you into it? We saw lug soles quite a bit last year but I feel like they’re on another level this year with the added platform. I love a classic Chelsea boot with a lug sole and I do love the platform style too but it’s definitely a look.
OK, chic western is here and I love it. I mean, I am from Texas so it makes sense, but these boots are just too good. You could wear them with denim or leggings, or with a dress or skirt. So much versatility! If I were to recommend one style to pick up this fall, it might be a pair of chic western-style boots!
