Bag Lady

Bag Lady

If you know me, you know I have a thing for bags. It all started when I was six years old. All I wanted for Christmas was this brown leather purse from JCPenny. My family loves to laugh about that Christmas because that purse was all I could talk, think or ask about. Christmas came and Santa delivered. I was the happiest six year old on the block. I sported that purse all day and it never left my shoulder. My mom eventually peeled it off me once I was asleep. To this day, my family jokes about that purse and loves to give me a hard time about my ever growing purse collection. But who can blame them. A girl knows what she wants! Fast forward 21 years, and this Cleo Tote by Elaine Turner is a great addition to the collection. My six year old self would be so proud! I love the size and shape. I actually use this for school to carry my laptop, papers and lesson plans.  Elaine Turner never disappoints with the quality of her bags and shoes! To see more from her collection, visit here!      Wearing: Elaine Turner Cleo ...

Papers in the Park

Papers in the Park

In my book, weekends are meant for two things: brunch and sleeping in. But now that school is back in session, I have a few more responsibilities. My weekends now mostly consist of getting my grocery shopping done, preparing for blog content, catching up on emails, and grading papers. While grading papers isn't always at the top of my list, (I know my teacher friends totally agree!) I do enjoy grading in an enjoyable environment. Since the weather is getting nice, I plan to spend my weekends outdoors as much as possible. For my third look with Nine West, Fall was on the brain. During Fall, I love to wear oversized sweaters, skinny jeans and short boots like the Jareth Booties from Nine West. This is one look that will be on heavy rotation this Fall! Coffee Run

Coffee Run

Happy Monday! Last week, I shared my Back to School looks with Nine West. And this week, I'm continuing the theme by sharing what goes on before I actually step in the classroom. The first order of business is figuring out what to wear in the mornings. I wish I could always be organized and have it picked out the night before, but you know how that goes! For work, I like to keep it casual, yet professional. These black pants, classic white blouse and peep toe booties from Nine West are one of my favorite combos for Fall. I love a little heel and this is one that I can definitely sport while on my feet. They're so comfortable! I like to arrive at school early to prep for the day.  But before I can do any of that, I make a most essential coffee run. I usually grab an iced coffee to go, and head to school. I love sipping my coffee and making any last minute adjustments to my lessons or activities.

A stylish, but comfortable outfit and a highly caffeinated beverage make for a great start to the day! To see more of my collection from

The Packing List | NYFW

The Packing List | NYFW

In just a few short hours, I will be on my way to experience my very first Fashion Week in New York City. I am so excited to be traveling with dear friends, Bishop & Holland, and I can't wait to share some exciting collaborations & projects with you! Oh and I know you are all thinking, a teacher at fashion week?!  So yes, a teacher at fashion week. Crazy! Packing for an event like Fashion Week can be an exciting, yet daunting task. However, I was so excited when Portero wanted to team up to share my packing list for NYFW. Portero is one of the leading companies in selling authentic, vintage bags and the only place I go to for gently used accessories. This Louis Vuitton Duffle from Portero was the perfect size for a quick trip.  Not only does it do the job, but it looks great too! In my bag, you will find some fun heels, like these new lace up booties from Steve Madden. Or of course, the classic Valentino Rock Stud Pump. I also threw in some flats because, let's be honest, there's no way ...

Weekend Wear

Weekend Wear

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend! I don't know about you but I sure did enjoy an extra day to sleep in and do some things on our new house. We finally got around to getting our night stands (added a little DIY touch...more coming soon), hung some curtains and bought some new items for decorating. Nothing big, just things we needed to get done! Over the weekend I wore this feather print tunic, new boyfriend jeans and (the best) leather tote for a long brunch followed by errands.  Side note: I was so scared to try boyfriend jeans (especially because I ordered these online-sized down!) but once I got past the fact that yes, they are more "relaxed", I quickly grew to love them.  A fun tunic paired with good denim is my kind of weekend wear.    Wearing: Chantilly Dallas Feather Tunic c/o | J Crew

Beauty Talk | Bobbi Brown

For the past year, I went through a phase where I couldn't find a foundation that was right for me. Sure it looked great when the lady at the counter applied it, but when I got home I never felt 100% about it. Buying makeup for me is all about the research. It's rare that I just walk into Nordrstrom or Sephora without a game plan. That never goes well and always results in a trip back for a return or a stupid amount of money spent on silly things. This time I was on the hunt for a new foundation. Bobbi Brown is a brand that I have used for years but have never considered for a foundation. With the school year starting, I wanted something that was light, had spf, and felt good on my skin. The Skin Foundation seemed to have it all and after reading countless (positive) reviews, I thought I would give it a try. Not only did I love it, but my skin has never felt better. It's the only foundation I have used that is light but gives great coverage. When I was perusing through all the comments about the makeup, I noticed that the Bobbi Brown Full Coverage Brush kept coming up in conversations. People were raving about this brush and it immediately struck my curiosity. I can't get over this brush. Seriously, this brush is ...
