If there's one way to make any outfit festive, it's with plaid accessories. I've been wearing this plaid coat (size up) on many occasions but I find that a plaid scarf like this one is more versatile from day to day.
I've had this scarf for a while, and it's finally been cool enough to wear it. I love how it's warm, cozy and everything I want to be wearing on a cool December day.
I kept the look somewhat casual with a messy ponytail, funnel neck sweater and distressed denim. There's so many plaid scarf options online and I made sure to include my favorites (at all price points) below!
Also, thanks so much for the sweet comments regarding our home updates on snapchat and instagram. It was a process, but I am so happy to be 99% finished. I will be sharing the full home tour in January! You all are so sweet and thoughtful...thank you for stopping by! xx
The Holiday Party Skirt
With holiday parties in full swing, I could not wait to share with you this party inspired look from New York & Company. And while red is the color of choice for most, I chose to keep it neutral with this blush pleated skirt and black bow tie blouse from the new Eva Mendes Collection with New York & Company.
As a former teacher, I found New York & Company to be a great place for affordable basics and trendy pieces for work wear. Many cardigans and black pants were purchased here and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with New York & Company on something a little more festive.
This pleated skirt is perfect for any party or dressier occasion. I can't wait to wear this black & pink look to a friend's Christmas Party this weekend and I also plan to wear it to Christmas Eve Service with our family. If you love neutrals, try pairing the skirt with a white or cream blouse. The monochromatic look is so pretty!
Hope you guys have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by! xx

Cream Textured Cardigan
It's no secret that I love cardigans. I've worn my fair share of the classic cardigan back in my teaching days, but I love this Textured Wool Cardigan from French Connection. I also am excited to share that it is an extra 30% off code "XTRA30".
I've been wearing this cardigan non stop. It's an unexpected twist on the classic style we all know, and is the perfect option to throw over a blouse or sweater. If you're liking the monochromatic look, I suggest pairing it with these ivory cords and these metallic flats (or these nude flats).

Layering Like A Pro
We've been in full holiday mode this week. Christmas songs playing throughout the house, wreaths hung, and the tree is up! Austin and I are hosting our first Christmas party this weekend and we are very excited to fill our home with dear friends and loved ones. I won't even talk about how our house is in the middle of being painted and we are having furniture being delivered on Thursday, either way, we are looking forward to a weekend of holiday festivities!
This black and white coat has been the perfect solution for our mild December. While, I am looking forward to bundling up in heavy layers, I love lightweight jackets and coats. To add a little color, this red bag was a nice contrast.
I am also excited to share that my necklace, perfect for you gals that love to layer, is BaubleBar's Buried Bauble today. It's only $10 and it comes in silver or gold. I love the minimal look of this Bar None Layered Necklace and have found that it looks great worn as is, or if you add another necklace. Here, I paired it with this initial necklace (under $35
Dutch Braid Ponytail Tutorial + Giveaway
Now that the holiday season has officially arrived, I wanted to share with you a hairstyle perfect for any upcoming festivities. This braided ponytail is one of my favorite looks and I love the messy texture. Gone are the days where every strand has to be in place. Now, we are embracing texture, loose curls, and of course, volume!

1. I recommend this look on day old (or 2-day old) hair. I find that when my hair is dirty, it actually turns out better when doing a braided updo such as this.
Start by spraying dry shampoo all over hair, focusing on roots. I've tried numerous brands, and one that I am currently loving is the Moroccan Oil Dry Shampoo (I use the color light and it helps keep my roots not so harsh). Use at the roots for added volume and a matte texture. Be sure to brush out the powder with a
Tan Boyfriend Blazer
It's no secret I love a good blazer. The ease of pairing it with a tank top and skinny pants is just one of the many reasons a blazer is my go to. When I was in New York last month, I stumbled upon this '70s Longline Blazer in Topshop. I've had my eye on a tan blazer for months and loved the fit and length of this version.
A blazer can totally transform any outfit. Gone are the days where blazers are only to be worn in the workplace. Personally, I love to wear a blazer with boyfriend jeans, heels and a t-shirt. I've also been able to wear some of my favorite Summer dresses in the fall by simply throwing on a blazer to complete the look and update it for the new season.
Do you have any blazers? How do you wear them?

Sweater Vest & Aviators
When it comes to functionality in accessories, sunglasses are near the very top of the list. Whether it's a classic pair of aviators or an oversized cat-eye, they are the perfect necessity year round.
Since sunglasses are an accessory that I wear nearly everyday, I’m okay with making an investment in a quality pair that I love. However, I have found quite a few at Nordstrom that are under $150 and still great quality. A friend of mine has these and I could not believe they were under $100. I also love this pair by Le Specs. It’s fun to see all of the different eyewear trends that emerge, but I always go back to the classics. Lately, I’ve been alternating between my Ray-Ban Large Aviators and this round pair by Chloe.

As a frequent shopper of Macy's, I am excited to share with you one of their biggest sales of the season. Home Updates with Lulu & Georgia
Today, I am excited to share a little update on our home makeover before the big reveal in January. Recently, I purchased this vanity for our bedroom, and was in desperate need for a few accessories to help style out the new piece. Lulu and Georgia has been my go-to ever since we moved almost two years ago. I frequently browse their website for new decor items, desk accessories, or furniture pieces.
I've mentioned before, that home decorating intimidates me, but after working with Jessie (our friend and designer) she helped make this process so much more enjoyable and actually fun! Here are a few easy steps to help you style your vanity, dresser or desk.
1. Get Personal Starting with a clean slate can be very daunting, but for some, it's an exciting challenge! I always like to incorporate a few personal touches into each space around our home. Whether it's a photo from a recent trip or my favorite perfume, it's all about what makes you feel at home and inspired.
Call me old fashioned, but I love calendars and prefer to have something tangible to look at while I'm getting ready or working. This flip calendar was the perfect addition. Each month is a different glamor girl illustration. They are so pretty!
