Every year, I get so excited about the Shopbop Sale. It's a great time to get those boots you've had on your list or spurge on that handbag. Almost everything is on sale at 25% off site wide + free shipping.
After searching the site, I've narrowed down my top favorite items. Some of my favorite brands on sale include Sam Edelman, Vince, Rebecca Minkoff, and Cupcakes and Cashmere.

Grid Blanket Cape
When it comes to Fall fashion, I love oversized sweaters, textured layers, and plaid prints. This cape has everything in one. From the soft fabric to the faux leather trim, it's a great sweater (and it's reversible).
Without hesitation, I knew this was a piece I wanted for my fall wardrobe. I had a similar one years ago and after wearing it over and over again, it was time to replace it and update the look!
Thanks for reading! xx
OUTFIT DETAILS: Trouve Grid Cape | Leggings (Ok, I love these pants/leggings! They are very thick, so they don't actually feel like a legging. They are also super slimming. Highly recommend!) | Topshop Lace Up Flats (ok, I was not impressed with these flats. After ...
Fringe Details
With fringe being a huge trend this season, I couldn't help but feel the need to participate. While this fringe cardigan is a little out of my comfort zone, I thought it was too fun to pass up! I also love the idea of pairing it with a skirt or an all black ensemble.
I've had a few of you email asking if fringe is a "quick fad", or something we may see long term. I'm not at expert (by any means) but I do know that it was seen all over the runways during NYFW. Meaning we can expect to see fringe throughout 2016.
However, If you're not one to jump in feet first, I suggest starting with something small. Like a fringed ankle boot ( I also love these) or maybe a pair of heels. I have this bucket bag and I find that it has just the right amount of fringe. It goes with so much! Both are good options for those who don't want to fully invest in the trend.
What fringe pieces are you loving?
Quilted Vest & Riding Boots
It's a rare occasion that we need a ton of layers living in Dallas, but lately the weather has been perfect for pieces like this Quilted Vest and Lightweight Sweater. I have always loved these vests from J Crew. They are easy to throw on over a sweater, a plaid top or even paired with a girly skirt. I am looking forward to more chilly days in this vest and riding boots.
On a side note, you may have seen on my snapchat (name: the teacher diva) that we are in Florida this week. My husband is here for a work conference, and I am so happy I got to tag a long. In the past, I would have never been able to travel with him, but now that I can work remotely it's not a problem. While he's been in meetings all day, I have enjoyed working from our hotel room and spending some time by the pool. We are heading to Harry Potter World on Wednesday evening and spending Friday and Saturday at Disney World. I'm so excited! I have never been to either before, so please feel free to send us some suggestions or recommendations for places to see or eat... I love hearing from you guys!

How to Get Big Curls
I am so excited to finally share with you guys a new hair tutorial. There's no question that my favorite hairstyle is big, loose curls (after all, I am from Texas). It's also the style I wear my most often. Many of you have requested this tutorial, and while I shared a similar tutorial last year, I wanted to share an updated version and be as thorough and detailed as possible.
Please let me know if you have any questions!
Products Used:
Pro Beauty: 1 ¼” Professional Gold Curling Iron & Ionic AC Motor Dryer
Oribe: Royal Blowout, Superfine Strong Hairspray, and Goldlust Nourishing Oil
Redken: Quick Tease 15 Backcombing Spray
Step 1: Before creating this hairstyle, I like to start with clean hair. While I don't wash my hair everyday, this is a great way to set your look for the next couple of days.
If time permits, I like to let my hair partially air dry. I typically throw my hair up in a bun and let it air dry about 75% ...
Instagram Lately .05
Happy Friday! I wanted to share a quick instagram recap including details from recent posts on Instagram and Facebook. I know some of you do not use LikeToKnow. It and have specifically requested these roundups for details and links. As always, if you have any questions about sizing or quality, feel free to comment or email (theteacherdiva@gmail.com)
Thanks so much and have a great weekend!
This jacket (tts, wearing a small) has been a favorite of mine. I wear it all the time!
These sunglasses are a steal at under $10! My wallet is by Goyard (comes with the tote). You can get it here or
Military Swing Dress
I have always been more of a jeans and blouse kind of gal, but lately dresses are becoming my item of choice. They are perfect for this weather. I wore this Military Swing Dress during our recent trip to NYC and found it was perfect for a casual afternoon walking around Central Park and (window) shopping on 5th Ave.
I love swing dresses because they look great alone, but even better paired with a jacket or some type of layer. It was too warm that afternoon in NYC, but I had hoped to throw on this denim jacket to complete the look. I loved wearing it with my brown leather ankle boots and found this whole outfit to be very comfortable.
PS- If you are in the Dallas area, I would love for you to stop by tomorrow's event at Neiman Marcus, Plano! There will be sips, treats and giveaways. The runway presentation will start around 6:00. Read more details here.
Hope to see you there! xx
Recent Beauty Buys
With a new season approaching, it's time to start transitioning our summer makeup to something a little more neutral or bold for Fall. Just like we switch up our wardrobe, the same is true for our makeup.
Here are a few easy ways to freshen up your makeup bag for fall.
Before I start sharing my recent beauty finds, what better way to store your makeup than a personalized makeup bag or monogrammed acrylic case? These are two items that will definitely last you all year long, and are perfect for storing your makeup or jewelry.
Makeup brushes can make all the difference when applying foundation or contouring. Recently, I purchased 3 new brushes from Sigma Beauty. I am new to the brand, but was pretty impressed with the reviews and the price point. Brushes can be so expensive, but these seemed more affordable than most and still maintained good quality.
So are they worth it? Yes! These brushes are amazing. They are made from Sigmax Synthetic Fibers, meaning they don't absorb liquid or cream foundations and I have found that they don't shed like many natural hair brushes. Using these brushes have made a huge difference with applying my makeup ...
Pink Dress & Lace Up Flats
A few weeks ago, I went to NYC for the last few days of Fashion Week and to work on an upcoming project launching next month. I always love trips to New York. And while they are usually very short, I always make time to enjoy the city, try new food and of course walk 5th Ave.
This Printed Drop Waist Dress couldn't have been more perfect for this trip. This comfortable dress made for the perfect look while walking from meeting to meeting. Not to mention, it does not wrinkle. I was very surprised to pull this out of my suitcase (fully expecting to steam it) and noticed that it was in great condition. My Lace Up Flats (back in stock and under $75) were also a nice break from heels. I always love an excuse to wear these shoes! This dress & shoe combo will definitely be coming with me on any trips in the near future.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great Monday! xx

Boho Dress
Happy Sunday! I wanted to share a quick look that is perfect to wear as we transition to Fall weather. I loved wearing this Free People Dress during our stay in Cabo last month (see here) but I also think the style and color makes for a perfect fall dress as well. How to take it from summer to fall is simple. Just throw on your favorite booties and you're all set.
Also, many of you ask about fit and sizing, which can be tricky when ordering online, so I hear you. I try to always include a little blurb about that at the bottom of each post but, if you still have questions feel free to email me (theteacherdiva@gmail.com) I love to hear from you guys!
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the weekend!
