I've been getting requests to share my Mother's Day Gift Guide early which I love because one of my favorite things to put on my wishlist each year is something custom (jewelry), and those things can take a while to make. So even though we have a few weeks 'til the holiday, send this over to your husband, kids, whoever, today. I'm also shopping my own list for the moms in my life that I'm beyond grateful for. ...
The Mother’s Day Gift Guide
Mother's Day always creeps up on me and I just realized it's in less than two weeks.
Obviously I'm now a mom but I still mainly think about my own mom and MIL on this holiday. And more than ever, it's one of my favorite holidays for celebrating the moms in my life, along with reflecting on my own motherhood journey. I know firsthand how emotional this holiday can be for people, so just know that I'm also sending love to everyone who needs it on this day. ...
George’s Modern Nursery
I can't believe it's taken me almost 3 years to finally share this nursery with you (!) We worked with Ginger at Urbanology Designs to create this modern nursery for George and I love how it turned out. Also thank you to Apartment Therapy for the beautiful feature! ...
Tips for Balancing Work + Life
I posted a question box about 'work/life balance' a couple of weeks ago on IGS and it got such a huge response that I knew I needed to compile things into a blog post. First up, it seems like most people agree that it's nearly impossible, and also that there's just never going to be a perfect balance - which is fine. I've noticed more this year than ever before, with two boys, a full-time job, family stuff, working on some big projects, and just life, that my balance was suffering, and so was my mental health because of it. ...
What I’m Shopping for the Boys Right Now
This is my third year to shop the baby/kids section of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and if you are in the market for a car seat or want to pick up some shoes for your baby, this is a great time to shop. This year, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2021 Baby section has some really good stuff. ...
12 Products I’ve Loved During Postpartum
Most of the recurring messages in my DMs lately have been about postpartum, so I know a lot of mama's are going through it too, or are about to be. From what SPANX I'm loving to my postpartum beauty faves (aka things that are quick and efficient) to what I'm wearing, I'm happy to share what's been working for me. ...
What We Have in Our Diaper Cart
I'm glad y'all enjoyed the Baby Essentials I shared this week, and as promised, today I'm going to cover what we keep in our rolling baby cart. We tend to keep this in our living room or bedroom depending on the time of day, and it's been such a life-saver during the newborn stage. ...
My List of Baby Essentials After Having Two Kids
One of the most requested posts as of late has been my baby essentials or to link certain things I'm sharing for Charlie. I know it's taken me some time to get around to it, but I wanted to make sure I could recommend and use some of these items on Charlie before publishing this. Between George and Charlie, there have been certain things that I didn't end up loving, but what you see below are things I can confidently recommend as my baby essentials. I hope it's helpful, and let me know if I left anything out. I'll share what we keep in the rolling cart soon, as I know that's another popular topic in my DMs. ...
What to Gift New Mamas
After sharing a thoughtful care package idea for new moms last week, I had some of you ask for more ideas, which I loved putting together. I've been on both sides - being the friend who wants to give a new mama a gift, and always being a new mom going through the tough newborn stage, so I think I have a good sense of what's helpful. Obviously every woman is different but I don't think you can go wrong with something cozy, something relaxing, something monogrammed, or something lux that you know she'll love. ...
What I’m Living In Postpartum
It's taken me a few weeks to get this post together, but I definitely wanted to share what I'm actually living in postpartum this time around. Since Charlie's case was different from George's and I needed to go back to the hospital (sometimes multiple times a day) to be with him, drop off milk, etc., I ended up having to actually get dressed a lot more often than I did with George. And don't get me wrong, it wasn't cute, but postpartum is raw and real and I am totally OK with that! Not to mention I was still recovering from my C-section so truly, I had to be careful with what I was wearing so that I was decently comfortable. ...
