Weekend Wear

Weekend Wear

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend! I don't know about you but I sure did enjoy an extra day to sleep in and do some things on our new house. We finally got around to getting our night stands (added a little DIY touch...more coming soon), hung some curtains and bought some new items for decorating. Nothing big, just things we needed to get done! Over the weekend I wore this feather print tunic, new boyfriend jeans and (the best) leather tote for a long brunch followed by errands.  Side note: I was so scared to try boyfriend jeans (especially because I ordered these online-sized down!) but once I got past the fact that yes, they are more "relaxed", I quickly grew to love them.  A fun tunic paired with good denim is my kind of weekend wear.    Wearing: Chantilly Dallas Feather Tunic c/o | J Crew

Beauty Talk | Bobbi Brown

For the past year, I went through a phase where I couldn't find a foundation that was right for me. Sure it looked great when the lady at the counter applied it, but when I got home I never felt 100% about it. Buying makeup for me is all about the research. It's rare that I just walk into Nordrstrom or Sephora without a game plan. That never goes well and always results in a trip back for a return or a stupid amount of money spent on silly things. This time I was on the hunt for a new foundation. Bobbi Brown is a brand that I have used for years but have never considered for a foundation. With the school year starting, I wanted something that was light, had spf, and felt good on my skin. The Skin Foundation seemed to have it all and after reading countless (positive) reviews, I thought I would give it a try. Not only did I love it, but my skin has never felt better. It's the only foundation I have used that is light but gives great coverage. When I was perusing through all the comments about the makeup, I noticed that the Bobbi Brown Full Coverage Brush kept coming up in conversations. People were raving about this brush and it immediately struck my curiosity. I can't get over this brush. Seriously, this brush is ...

1st Grade Classroom Sneak Peek

1st Grade Classroom Sneak Peek

I've learned something about myself in the 5 years I've been teaching. It is that, no matter how many times I get ready for the first day of school... I'm always nervous. I hate to admit it, but it's true. Butterflies in my stomach, can't sleep the night before- flat out nervous! ...

Wear To Work

Wear To Work

I'm a sucker for a silk blouse. It's the most versatile thing I own and in my opinion, something every gal needs to have on hand. Recently I was introduced to Bradamant, a brand that makes silk tops a little differently. You see, this is actually a body suit that I am wearing. You read that right, a body suit! When I first heard about Bradamant, I was totally impressed. Not only is their suit totally practical, but it's so easy to wear. I love not having to worry about shirt lines or wrinkles through out the day. Many of you ask about my professional wardrobe and this would definitely be a look I would sport to school. It's comfortable and lets me move easily. I would swap the pink pumps for some cute leopard flats. Wearing: Bradamant Body Suit The Coach (fit: tts, wearing a small) c/o | ASOS Royal Blue Skirt Triple Cage and Crystal Ring c/o | BaubleBar Crystal Pheasant Bib | Karen Walker Sunglasses  Nine West Leather Satchel | Wanderlust ...

On My Desk with Remodo

On My Desk with Remodo

I have always had a weakness for desk accessories and office supplies. This may not come as a surprise considering I am a teacher, but I actually get excited to buy new pens and don't even get me started on a new notepad. I recently was introduced to Remodo, an online interior design company dedicated to young adults and anyone who likes cute home goodies.  Started in August 2013 by sisters Amanda and Whitney Fox, the site provides fresh, stylish options for all your home and office needs. I couldn't resist this leopard lucite tray and this blue "notes" pad...too cute! Want to get in on all the Remodo fun? They are on their "Remodo on the Road" tour right now and their next stop is Dallas! They will be in town August 22nd-23rd and they would love for you to stop by their mobile showroom. Stop by the SMU campus during the day on Friday, August 22nd or on Saturday, August 23rd, at Dallas Contemporary in the Design District Market from 12-8pm. You can follow along via instagram with #Remodoontheroad to get all the behind the scenes details.  Visitors have the option to work with Amanda and Whitney, ask design questions, see products such as pillows, lamps, rugs, chairs, ...

BaubleBar X Pantene

BaubleBar X Pantene

If there's one thing you can count on in Texas, it's the extreme heat (ok and the humidity). Two things that do not pair well with hair. Due to the unfortunate heat, I've been really inspired to find pretty hairstyles that help minimize frizz and are relatively low maintenance. I was super excited to try out the new Pantene Stylers Collection. I have a weakness for hair products (you guys know this) so I couldn't wait to get my hands on the Blow Out Extend Dry Shampoo and Flexible Hold Hair Spray.  I used these products to create three different hairstyles to help beat the heat. To top it off, I styled each look with some BaubleBar jewelry to add a little sparkle. Riffraff V Neck Top | Blair Ritchey PAK Clutch Side Braid Ponytail- This is an easy look for second day hair. I start by using Pantene Blowout Extend Dry Shampoo. The smell is awesome and it gives my hair a fresh ...
