I’ve learned something about myself in the 5 years I’ve been teaching. It is that, no matter how many times I get ready for the first day of school… I’m always nervous. I hate to admit it, but it’s true. Butterflies in my stomach, can’t sleep the night before- flat out nervous!
Today, 18 little first graders are going to show up at my classroom. And although I’m nervous, I am so excited. They are going to look up at me with their bright eyes and lean on me for guidance and direction. I can’t wait to help them learn and be the best they can be. No pressure, right?
A lot of you have been really kind by sending me emails and comments wishing me luck and asking about my classroom. I am sharing a sneak peak of my classroom now, and will share more next week.
I won’t let the nerves get the best of me, because today is the first day of what I hope to be great school year!

So so cute! I always thought I would be an elementary school teacher…you make such a big impact at a impressionable time in their lives. I am sure they love having you as a teacher too!!

I know you don’t usually post teacher stuff, but I have to say I love this. It’s fun to see the other side of “the teacher diva”. I enjoy reading your blog!

I love your classroom! Super cute! Good luck on your first day. And I’m glad I’m not the only one who’s ALWAYS nervous on the first day of school. BTW, I think I’m going to get that book to read next year! Well I haven’t read it yet, do you think my high schoolers would enjoy it still? Lol.
