What a whirlwind fashion week was. And as crazy as it can be, I always look forward to it. Between the shows, meetings and presentations, this NYFW season did not disappoint. I put together a little NYFW diary of the week to share with you part of my fashion week experience. ...
What I Packed for NYFW
Hello from New York! It has been a crazy couple of days, but Fashion Week is officially here. As we gear up for a fun-filled weekend, I wanted to share a few of the items I packed with me for NYFW. ...
Valentine’s Day in Pink
Happy Valentine's Day to all! Whether you are celebrating the day with your significant other or best girl friends, I hope it's full of love and laughter. I wanted to share another snowy look from Fashion Week. And if you know me, you know I love a good blush ensemble. This monochromatic look was classic yet feminine and despite the snow, was still a great option for a day of presentations and meetings. ...
Snowday in New York City
After arriving to NYC last week, we were greeted with a beautiful 10 inches of snow. Being a Dallas girl, that is something I never see. This definitely slowed things down for NYFW. A few meetings were canceled and shows were delayed, but it was pretty neat to experience the snowfall. ...
Trendy NYC Coffee Shops
Coffee is easily one of my favorite ways to start my morning. There's just something about starting my day off with a hot cup of joe, that motivates me to get things done. This past weekend I made a trip up to New York City with my sister-in-law, Megan, and being the coffee lovers that we are, we wanted to visit as many trendy coffee shops as possible. ...
Packing for New York City
Today, I am off to NYC with my sister in law, Megan. We are pretty excited about this weekend getaway and can't wait to be back in New York City. Feel free to follow along via snapchat and Instagram to see more from our girls trip!
In the meantime, I thought I would share a quick packing post with you all, featuring a few of the items I brought in my carry on.
A few call outs would be this pink coat. The color is even prettier in person and is the perfect shade of blush. I do recommend sizing up...it runs a little small.
If you've followed my blog for a while, you know I love a good facial mist. I always like to keep one on hand. Whether it's in my makeup bag or at my desk, I literally use it anytime I am in need of a boost. I recently picked up the Luminous Dewy Skin Mist by Tatcha and have been so impressed. It's comes out in an ultra fine mist, and gives your skin an instant refresh. This might be my favorite I have ever tried. I use it right after cleansing, before moisturizer and throughout the day over my makeup.
I hope you guys have a great day! xx Ashley ...
Military Swing Dress
I have always been more of a jeans and blouse kind of gal, but lately dresses are becoming my item of choice. They are perfect for this weather. I wore this Military Swing Dress during our recent trip to NYC and found it was perfect for a casual afternoon walking around Central Park and (window) shopping on 5th Ave.
I love swing dresses because they look great alone, but even better paired with a jacket or some type of layer. It was too warm that afternoon in NYC, but I had hoped to throw on this denim jacket to complete the look. I loved wearing it with my brown leather ankle boots and found this whole outfit to be very comfortable.
PS- If you are in the Dallas area, I would love for you to stop by tomorrow's event at Neiman Marcus, Plano! There will be sips, treats and giveaways. The runway presentation will start around 6:00. Read more details here.
Hope to see you there! xx
Pink Dress & Lace Up Flats
A few weeks ago, I went to NYC for the last few days of Fashion Week and to work on an upcoming project launching next month. I always love trips to New York. And while they are usually very short, I always make time to enjoy the city, try new food and of course walk 5th Ave.
This Printed Drop Waist Dress couldn't have been more perfect for this trip. This comfortable dress made for the perfect look while walking from meeting to meeting. Not to mention, it does not wrinkle. I was very surprised to pull this out of my suitcase (fully expecting to steam it) and noticed that it was in great condition. My Lace Up Flats (back in stock and under $75) were also a nice break from heels. I always love an excuse to wear these shoes! This dress & shoe combo will definitely be coming with me on any trips in the near future.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great Monday! xx

NYFW Recap

Happy Monday! You may have seen me tweet or snapchat last night that school is canceled today (!!!) Big news for us teachers and I know students all over North Texas are rejoicing just as much as their teachers.
I wanted to share a little recap with you from my trip to New York last week! I was so excited and humbled to get to attend fashion week last week. My short trip was busy, but exciting!
After arriving Thursday afternoon, we went straight to the Hunter Bell presentation. I was so impressed with her fall collection. Hunter was so down to earth and friendly. It was so nice getting to meet a fellow Texan in New York! Immediately following, we rushed over to meet with the Ann Taylor team. Here, we had the opportunity to see the headquarters, design studio, and check out their new Spring line. It was so exciting and every one was so friendly. I can't wait to share with you some ...
