When it comes to lipstick, more is more in my book. I tend to always find an excuse to buy a new shade and I love trying new colors. With Spring just around the corner, I’m pulling out all of my go-to pinks and coral shades. I often get questions about my lipstick (especially on snapchat) so I wanted to put together a list of my favorite picks just in time for the new season. If you’re more of a neutrals kind of gal, be sure to check out my picks from Fall. It’s the perfect list if you love a nude lip.
I swtached them below and linked to other posts where I have worn the colors in hopes to give you a better idea of how these colors look in person. Some of these are new and haven’t made it to the blog yet, but they will soon!
In the meantime, we are on our way to Los Angeles this morning. Austin and I are trading in the gloomy weather for sunshine and 70 degrees. We are working on a project that will launch in a few weeks (more to come on that) and also making some time to take a mini vacation. Sadly, Disneyland is not on our itinerary this trip, but we are looking forward trying new things while in Southern California. We are heading to Venice on Thursday so if you have any “must-do’s” please let us know!
Thanks for stoping by! xx Ashley
BUXOM BIG & SEXY BOLD GEL LIPSTICK IN “NATURALLY DARING“
[also seen in this blog post]: This is one of my favorite lipsticks. It has a matte finish, yet goes on smooth like a traditional lipstick. The color is spot on for me. Somewhere between a nudist-pink with a hint of coral. I always have this lipstick on hand as it’s easy to touch up throughout the day. I only wish it had the staying power like a liquid lipstick.
BY TERRY TERRIBLY VELVET ROUGE LIQUID LIPSTICK IN “DREAM BLOOM” [seen here] + “GYPSY ROSE“
I was recently introduced to By Terry when I received a sample of their cult favorite rose balm in my Birchbox (I know, how exciting was that?). Since, I have been eager to try more products from this luxe beauty brand. They don’t come with a budget friendly price tag, but I was very curious to see if this lived up to the hype. Though it is pricey, I love the color, lasting power, and the fact that it does not dry out my lips. Usually longwear lipsticks tend to be drying on lips, but this did not. I was pleasantly surprised by this that I picked up a darker pink, “Gypsy Rose”.
MAC LIPSTICK IN “SNOB“
[also seen here, here, and here]: This color is a staple in my book. In general, I would say that MAC Lipstick is the most bang for your buck. They makes so many colors, you are sure to find your “signature shade”. My favorites include Snob + Blankety. I like this color because it can be great worn alone or mixed with another shade of pink or nude.
HOURGLASS OPAQUE ROUGE LIQUID LIPSTICK IN “EDITION“
[also seen here]: If I had to keep only three liquid lipsticks it would be this one, By Terry and Jouer. I love the way this goes on! It’s packed with pigment, yet feels like you have nothing on your lips. The color is also spot on for spring. My only issue with this is the brush. Perhaps mine has a defect, but the applicator has too much flexibility. It can sometimes be hard applying around the cupids bow and corners of my lips. However, it’s still one of my top picks for longwear lipstick. Highly recommend this brand (and shade!).
STILA STAY ALL DAY LIQUID LIPSTICK IN PERLA
I’ve always loved Stila Liquid Lipsticks and have referenced them several times on here. Perla is a new shade that launched a few month ago. Perla is the perfect subdued mauve. It has a slight lavender tint, but don’t let that scare you. It comes off so pretty and looks great all year long in my opinion! This color reminds me of Rosa + Baci mixed. Love it!
