Many of you ask for makeup recommendations or foundation reviews. And tinted moisturizer has been a hot question with TTD readers lately. These aren’t anything new in the makeup world, but they are the ones I keep going back to time after time. Whether you’re looking for something sheer or full coverage, these will do the job.
SHEER TO LIGHT COVERAGE
I’ve been using the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer for several years…since high school actually. This is my favorite for a day at the beach, by the pool or just running errands on a Saturday morning. It’s light, has SPF and allows my skin to breath. This is also a great option for those who want the “no-makeup makeup” kind of look. It’s no wonder why this cult favorite has won so many beauty awards. It’s a makeup bag essential!
To get all day coverage, I always set my foundation or tinted moisturizer with the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder. I’ve tried several and in my opinion, this is simply the best loose setting powder on the market. You can see my other review on it here.
MEDIUM TO FULL COVERAGE
The IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream Illumination has been another product I have used for the past couple of years. This claims to be a CC cream, but it covers like a foundation. A foundation made of hydrolyzed collagen, peptides, vitamins, antioxidants and SPF 50? Count me in. You can read my other reviews on this CC Cream here and here.
CUSTOMIZING YOUR COLOR WITH LIQUID BRONZER
A newer product for me this season, has been the NARS Liquid Bronzer. This liquid bronzer is perfect to mix in with your own moisturizer to create a custom color, or mix with your current foundation. I use this during the summer months by adding two drops to my foundation. Since I use a self tanner during the summer, this adds a little color to my regular foundation and gives me a “just out of the sun” glow.
I like this liquid bronzer because it is very thin. It’s not thick and does not add “weight” to your foundation or moisturizer. This does not have SPF in it, but you could mix this in with your face sunscreen to create a tinted sunscreen.
