Moments Together with Pottery Barn

Moments Together with Pottery Barn

Austin and I celebrated our 5-year wedding anniversary back in March, and it feels like just yesterday we were registering for our new home essentials at Pottery Barn. Being fresh out of grad school, we really needed a few items to make our house feel like a home. At that point in our lives, we were both ready to move on from the bare essentials of college and start building out our home. Wedding planning is fun (and stressful!) but finishing out a home together can also be a special time. ...

5 Healthy Snacks I Have On Hand

5 Healthy Snacks I Have On Hand

It's no secret, I love a good snack. Quite the opposite of Austin who could literally eat two meals a day and be completely fine...I love to eat! Snacking is one of the ways I keep my cravings in check, get a boost of energy and curb hunger. Since my work week is more "on-the-go", I always like to have healthy-ish options to throw in my bag or keep in my desk drawer. Here are my favorites!  ...

Easy Lavender Lemon Cocktail

Easy Lavender Lemon Cocktail

Happy Holiday Weekend! A few weeks ago, Austin and I had the opportunity to visit Terranea Resort. While we were there we had the best lavender lemon cocktail. Terranea was so kind to pass along the recipe so Austin and I could make it at home. This is such a refreshing drink for Summer (and so easy to make).  ...

REESE’S PIECES CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES

REESE’S PIECES CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES

With the holidays a few weeks away (a little crazy we are almost half way through October), I wanted to share an easy gift idea and yummy recipe with you all! I know many of you are already thinking about gifts for teachers, co-workers or friends. And it's always nice to give a thoughtful gift without breaking the bank. This cookie basket is the perfect solution. And if you want to give a little extra, a Starbucks gift card would look pretty good nestled in the ribbon. ...

How To Style Floating Shelves

How To Style Floating Shelves

Happy Friday everyone! I am excited to share a little home update with you, specifically in my office. Since transitioning jobs, I now work full time from my house. Being in the fashion industry, my office is also my closet. So it only makes sense for me to have a clothing rack and shelves for the products I will be styling and shooting for upcoming content. It helps for styling purposes and makes it easier to plan my editorial calendar. We recently installed these Floating Shelves from Minted. I have been searching for something to put above my clothing rack and these shelves were perfect. I love the way they look in my office and they were just the right size for holding my small purses, knickknacks and art. When your styling floating shelves, it's important to remember these tips:

  1. Pick a color theme. You can probably tell I love neutrals and you're right. I have pops of color throughout our house, but for my office I wanted clean and neutral colors.
  2. Mix shapes and sizes. You don't want everything to be the same height. It's important to mix different heights to make the shelves interesting and balanced.
