I always enjoy reading about people's habits and tips for a successful day. I'm so nosey and find it pretty fascinating to learn what people do to be more productive, relax, etc. I wrote about the 10 things I do before 10 am a few months ago, and wanted to share a list of 5 things I do everyday. Not necessarily work related, but just things that set me up for a productive day. ...
What’s In My Nightstand
Is anyone else fascinated by what's in someone's personal space? Whether it's a good 'what's in my bag' or 'what's in my grocery cart', I'm always interested in that stuff - have been since I was a little girl. So after cleaning out my nightstand last week (which...was a disaster), I decided to share exactly what I keep in there. Let me know if you're into this more BTS content of everyday life, and I can share more of it. If it's totally boring, please let me know as well. ...
10 Before 10:00 AM: My Morning Routine
I don't know what it is about knowing people's morning routines, but I love reading about them. And recently I read about 10 things to be more productive in the morning and was really intrigued by that process. Whenever a fellow blogger, or even a friend, shares what they do to get ready for the day, I'm all ears. We all do things a little differently and I think there's something to take away from all the various routines people have - don't you think? ...
How I Finally Stuck to a Gratitude Practice
I should start this off by saying that I've always tried to be a grateful person. It's something that through faith, loss, and just trying to remain a positive person in general, has been a priority in my life. Now, that's not to say that I don't have days where I find myself down or taking something for granted - because I definitely do. And I actually noticed my gratitude slipping from my priority list. I still felt/feel internally grateful all the time but I was missing a more concrete gratitude practice - at least one that stuck. ...

Here’s How to Entertain a One-Year-Old
If you read his 1-Year Update, you know that George is now 14 months and officially a walker. He's changed so much over the last few months and let's just say keeping him entertained is harder than when he was a baby. He definitely likes to be on the move and switching things up constantly. And now that we're all at home and trying to work while entertaining him, I've tried just about every activity suggested to keep him entertained. If you're a mama to a child around George's age, I thought it would be helpful to compile what's worked best for us. ...
George’s 1-Year Update
This year has been incredibly fast -- I honestly can't believe George is one (actually 14 months, but you get the idea). I wanted to share some updates and answer questions I get asked often. ...
Resources and Children’s Books for Discussing Systemic Racism and Diversity at Home
One of the most important things I've learned in the last week is how important it is to talk to our children about race, and not just diversity but what racism means and looks like. Specifically what it means to be anti-racist, privileged and what implicit biases are. Those might seem like adult concepts, but as studies have shown, it's never too early to start talking to your kids about them.
For anyone looking to get started doing this along with Austin and I, I've compiled some amazing resources and books. From black voices and leaders on Instagram to children's books and helpful articles, everything below should help you start having these necessary conversations in your home. ...
Self-Care Ideas When You Have 15 Minutes or Less
If being a mom has taught me anything, it's that I need to be efficient—even when it comes to my self-care routine. Don't get me wrong, there are those rare evenings when I can run a bath and slowly sip on a glass of wine, but let's be real, that happens about once a year. This list of self-care ideas is much more approachable. They're small ways to make sure you're still taking time for yourself without you needing three hours to do it. Because honestly, sometimes I find myself avoiding self-care simply because I know I don't have an hour or more to give to it. ...
5 Simple and Free Ways to Celebrate Mother’s Day at Home
As we continue passing by holidays while at home during lockdown, I wanted to share some simple yet sweet ways to celebrate Mother's Day at home this year. Whether it's celebrating yourself (cheers to you, mama!), your own mom or mother-in-law, friends who are moms, women who are caregivers, expecting mothers, or hopeful mama's, I think it's a beautiful day to celebrate women. ...
