It all started back in November when I saw my favorite Vogue beauty editors sampling the Tom Ford Soleil Glow Drops. I was mesmerized to see these drops give the most beautiful, natural glow. I admit, I drink the Tom Ford Beauty kool-aid. I pay for their overpriced lipsticks and primers, but in my defense, I have yet to try something from Tom Ford Beauty that I don’t love. I figured it might be the same for these drops.
I immediately started researching to see where I could find these. Turns out they were sold out. Everywhere. I went online, in-store, no one could keep these on their shelves. The Tom Ford store here in Dallas added me to their waitlist (along with Neiman Marcus and Sephora – hey a girl needs options) and luckily got my hands on these in January.
I went back and forth on which color to try. The Tom Ford Soleil Glow Drops come in Liquid Sky (a bronze) or Liquid Sun (a pearly white). I tested both out, even DM’d a few of the beauty editors that I have gotten to know throughout my years in the industry, and they recommended the Liquid Sun (the pearly white one featured here).
WHAT DO THEY DO?
Simply put, they give you a glow. The white bottle can look intimidating, but once applied and blended, the white is quite sheer and wearable.
HOW DO YOU USE GLOW DROPS
Honestly, this is a really versatile product (that’s what’s so great about it). So just because I wear it one way, doesn’t mean you can’t experiment with it. I would not do all three of these at the same time, though, maybe start with one and go from there.
OPTION ONE: Mix in with foundation (start small, a tiny dot goes a long way).
OPTION TWO: Mix in with under eye concealer for a bright, dewy undereye.
OPTIONS THREE: Apply over foundation. This is how I am using it here! I start with two drops on the high of my cheekbone, one on the tip of my nose, and the leftover on my cupids bow. I blend with my fingers first, then go in with my beauty sponge. Like I mentioned above, a little goes a long way. I do this after I have set my foundation with powder. I know, I’m breaking the rule of applying a liquid over powder…but these are different. Play around with what works best for you, but this is how I liked it on my skin best.
ARE THEY WORTH THE PRICE?
Simply put, yes. For someone like me who wants a dewy look for every day or a little extra pop on date night, these are 100% worth it. They don’t irritate my sensitive skin and are very sheer, so they work for day or night. They will also last you a while. Truly, you use the smallest amount there is no doubt this will last me a year. At least. I have tried the Tata Harper Highlighter (also reviewed here) and it’s a great natural alternative. Is it as good, not really. But it’s still one worth checking out if you want a natural product or a better price tag.
What are your thoughts? Have you tried these yet? xx Ashley
