5 Cold Weather Recipes to Try This Season

If you’re like me, you’re trying to take January to stay home, spend less money, and get your life in order. Austin and I got in a habit of ordering out A LOT in 2021, especially as we became a family of 4, and we’d like to get back into the habit of cooking more at home. To kick off the year, I wanted to share 5 recipes to try this season. I’ve personally tried all of these and can vouch, and if you’re looking for even more ideas, I have an entire Pinterest board of recipes.

…And now I’m officially hungry.

Let me know any recipes you love this time of year in the comments, please!

xx Ashley

5 COLD WEATHER RECIPES TO TRY THIS SEASON

If you want to see more recipes for the season, I shared my favorite crockpot recipes last year.

Low Carb Chili – via Scattered Thoughts of a Crafty Mom

OK so this isn’t the prettiest recipe but it’s delish! Austin and I like to eat low carb when possible (you can see other low-carb recipes we love and low-carb snacks we keep in the house) and this is always on rotation during winter.

Pot Roast – via All Recipes

If you’ve been intimidated to make a pot roast, start with this one. It’s simple but impressive and the meat is incredibly tender!

Lasagna Roll-Ups – via Natasha’s Kitchen

These are a fun take on classic lasagna and honestly pretty hard to mess up. The leftovers are amazing, too!

Jalapeno Cheddar Potato Soup – via Olive and Mango

Since potatoes are in season during the winter, we try to incorporate them into our meals often. To switch it up, this cheddar potato soup (with a kick!) is perfect for cold weekend days.

Creamy Chicken Alfredo – via Rachael’s Good Eats

This is a healthier take on a classic dish but it’s not one of those healthy meals that tastes healthy, you know? It’s a good, easy weeknight meal. It’s gluten-free and dairy-free as well so it’s a good option for those who are dairy intolerant and missing alfredo.
